crankshaft/camshaft position correlation error. Can be caused by slipped timing belt or either sensor manfunction. First thing to do is check connectors on both sensors. If good, then you should check the valve timing by inspecting the camshaft sprocket alignment with timing marks. If you need instructions, please let us know.

it could be one of two things. cam sensor or the cat sensors. but you would need to really need the ecu read to find the code the ecu is giving. even a cheap code reader will do to just get the code that is stored. as you don't want to just be changing parts.

what fluid did you want to check? oil, coolant, transmission, brake? let me know and maybe i can help. the leak you currently see what color is the fluid? black or dark brown probably enigne oil. red or dark brown probably some kind of hydraulic fluid--trans or brake, yellow, green or blue with a sickly sweet smell is probably coolant. i haven't worked on a c230 but as far as i know all transmissions have a dipstick where you can check the level. check your owner's manual. make sure the car is warmed up such as after a short drive to properly circulate and check the trans fluid. some cars also require the transmission to be placed in a specific position ie neutral when being checked. again check your owners manual.

to the guy that was critical about your question, i hope he stays as dumb and ignorant about his/her car as he seems as with his/her attitude--just keep bringing it to servcie, that way i can keep making a lot of money out of you. i actually prefer an owner who knows a litlte some thing about their car and how it works--it makes the job easier in communicating to me what may be wrong and thus i can save them time and money. we both win. just don't tell me what you think it is--just tell me the symptoms are, as a professional it's my job to figure it out from there. hope this helps.

There is a handle inside the cup holder compartment. Lift it up then slide the console. Let go of the handle to lock it in place.

If the vibration is observed when the car is at rest, engine is running, brake pedal is depressed and is on D, check the following:
- Idle speed must be according to the specification.
- Vacuum leak.
- Spark plugs condition and air gaps between the electrodes.
- Fuel system and injectors.
- Engine and transmission mounts for looseness or are broken.
- Muffler and its foundations.

Do NOT take it to Jiffy Lube or any non-Mercedes place (independent shops are fine) for oil changes -- yes, the $150 oil changes are killer, but you need them. Your car is meant to go 14,000 miles give or take between oil changes. The oil (Mobil 1) and filters (Mann/Mahle/OE Genuine) that MB uses on your car are meant to last that long. The Fram/Purolator and Pennzoil/Quaker State/generic that Jiffy Lube puts in will last 3000 miles -- and even at that are not of sufficient quality to lubricate your engine properly.

Find a good independent Mercedes shop, it sounds like you're getting scammed by the dealer.

I'm a c230 owner and when i visited the dealer they said "don't worry for a light will come on to let you know it's time. Should be at 10,000 miles but there is a sensor to have it come on sooner if the oil needs it. cost approx $248.

I have 2005 e320. I had water coming through the headliner after a good rain. I thought the seal on the sunroof had possibly been compromised, I took it into the dealership only to be told that leaves get washed down into the body of the car and block the body drain holes. I was charged to have the right front wheel and wheel well cover removed. They ran a coat hanger or long screw driver up into the drain holes under the wheel well and flushed it with water. I watched as this was done. Leaves did indeed come out of the body of the car. When these holes get blocked, the water backs up into the car and comes through the panel and sometimes out of the passenger door frame. This has caused electrical problems with the vehicle as things are getting wet. This is a terrible design flaw and should be recalled for a fix! In the meantime, I'll try to keep my car covered so that no leaves fall down along the windshield and subsequently get washed down into the body. For a Mercedes one sure wouldn't expect this type of problem without the manufacturer stepping up to make it right!

you have to go to the mercedes dealer and give them the vin number for the car so they can order and new key.i think iy costs 40 to 80 for a new key

Did you clear the code after replacing the thermostat and it came back? If you didn't clear the code, do so. If it came back the problem could be a faulty coolant temp sensor. That is the next thing to check.
