''B'' Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded Bank 1
When dealing with the camshaft positioning sensor, this should be done by a certified mechanic. You can purchase a Chilton's repair manual for this auto, but I don't believe it will be of much help. I had the same problem on a newer ford, and wasn't equipped to do this job.Try giving the Mercedes dealer a call, and talk to one of there mechanics. I hope I have been some help to you.
Sincerely, shastalaker7

How dependable is the Mercedes 722.6 transmission?
most Mercedes cars mechanics are pretty bullet proof but as in all cars you do get bad ones no car is totally reliable the only problem Mercedes had was the rust problem which they have now solved but now as all cars they have filled them up with electronic gismos so there is something else to go wrong
Why won't my 2002 Clk 430 crank and shift into drive? It was in a minor accident.
depending on the amount/location of damage to the vehicle you could have damaged the wiring harness leading to blown fuses, or damaged important sensors/relays that, if damaged, wont allow the vehicle to start. or you could have tripped the rollover switch which cuts the power to the engine in the event of a rollover to help prevent fires. but can be set off if damaged or hit hard enough. Start checking fuses and wiring on the damaged part of the vehicle. I hope this info helps.
My 320clk Auto only selects D and R. TipTronic & the S/C functions do not work. Also when selecting D or R it shunts into gear. Has anybody any Ideas on the problem and cost? Many Thanks John.
The
following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any
electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.
The
engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only
for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the
transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in
most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory
of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as
the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done
is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system
for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for
engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained
technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then
based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the
correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer
replaced (known as the PCM or ECM,ECU), which is very rarely the
problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical
problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage
on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well
such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure
related problems. Also engine mechanical problems can and do cause
many drive-ability related problem such as rough idle and other
symptoms.

Repair manual for 2002 clk55 cabriolet
I am sorry but we have no auto repair manuals. The manuals are copyrighted by the manufacturer so they are not free to share on line, much like music and video content.
WHY WON'T THE CONVERTIBLE TOP MOTOR ENGAGE. WHILE DRIVING TOP BUTTON BLINKS RAPIDLY.
The top should not work above a certain speed or at all if the vehicle is moving. The top can easily rip from the wind if deployed at too fast a speed and even make the car unstabile while rolling. Most tops will raise above the windshield height when they deploy and can fail to clear carports or drive-thru facilities. The tops can catch low hanging light fixtures or even garage door openings.
Hi, I have 2000 CLK
AC Delco or Interstate batteries are the best......If you don't plan on keeping the car for more than 3-4 years then the Canadian Tire Motomaster Brand are very good as well with good warranty.....
