Hi i need help my mk1 golf carb starts and idle fine but as the car idle and enjin is getting hot then she just jerk and cut out then start it again it starts fine but idle for aboutfew sec then cut out again..i unplug the temp sensor problem remain petrol filter new new plugs and plug wires new boch distributor...plus 1/2 tank of feul...what els can i try any help..can this be electrical problem or what all my fuses checked and is fine any help pls

i used to drive a mk2 golf but now drive a mk1 and i had the same problem, especially when am turning. with my case when i had the rattling problem the cv joint boots needed to be replaced as they were worn out. that is one possible answer to your question. if youre DIY guy you might wanna check that out or go to your mechanic and he might tell you the same thing.

It can be 3 things on ur car it can be ur clutch cabel or ur push rod bearing or clutch ajustment

Either you have some kind of an electrical issue or you didnt hook them back up right after you replaced them. Try checking that.

like a dustbin ,if you remove the silencer it will run rough and lose the fuel economy the first silencer ?? does this vehicle have a cat all europeon cars from 92 were cats so this first box could be the cat .Also it will not pass the annual mechanical inspection and you could render yourself liable for a fine and points on licence for a noisy vehicle

Water ingress into the wiring. Try a water repellant such as WD40 and spray the engine bay wiring. Especially in the area of the Distributor and Ignition Coil. Make sure it isn't a water based spray!!

get the OBD read as will give a code for any faulty sensors etc

The code is to stop someone being able to use your stereo if they steal it from your car. Unless you have the code in your Owners manual, I would suggest that you may have to go to A dealer and get it from them. Sounds like a earth problem, check if the connection from the negative terminal is connected to the body of the car, sometimes the copper starts to rust inside the lug, check that the earth running to the engine is also soundly connected. Does the heat gauge needle jump around while driving?

Battery is not being charged. It may be due to problem in alternator or problem in charger.

could be steering gear failing.

you have a wrong timing fit. might out a tooth on camshaft and that's the reason you have noisy revs. be careful do not force it because you will bend valves. take it back to the garage for second check. Happens sometime.
