Back fire back to where, the intake or exhaust.intake backfire is a pop sound, not too loud, and is bad timing.exh backfire means, fuel plus air is in the exh. and explodes with a loud report , we call it muffler explosing to helpwith clear meaning.... in this latter example you have a bad running motor (rich as pig) a dead CAT and exhuast air leakall at the same time.

Hi there:Don't confuse this steady pulsing of the Check Engine Light light (usually one or more flashes per second) with a flicker (see above). The Check Engine Light may stay on steadily or it may flash when the vehicle is accelerated. This is very serious. There is a severe failure of the emission control system that is causing the engine to misfire to the point that the catalytic converter is damaged each time the Check Engine Light flashes. It may mean that the catalytic converter is overheating to the point that it will glow red or, in extreme cases, start a fire on the underside of the vehicle. Immediately pull over to a safe place and have your vehicle towed to an automotive diagnostician for repair. no year car, no country no engines stated, what joy , PAR here. lots of codes. a barrage of them. first off i bet you didnt clear them (yes write them down thanks) then see if they call come back. this is SOP. egr is 400 301 is misfire #1 304 is misfire #4 300 is random misfire, so all 4 do. 134 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Circuit Insufficient Activity Bank 1 Sensor 1 340 is serious. means Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Circuit btw all but 400 is caused by 340 but since you posted with no facts, we cant help you can we. each engine is different ,totally different. you posted to a USA form that has no such car The Suzuki Aerio (called the Liana - Life In A New Age - in ) and 7 engines. all very different. only this man can guess , engine, and he retired long ago smart guy him Carnac,knows all and can guess, and always be right. !!!but he be off line now. USA runs a J20b engine, on the Aerio (our name for same car class)
