Passenger side in the footwell, there should be a wiring harness running to it. May have to look up underneath the dash a little but its there.

check voltage on battery with a multimeter pull cables off, inspect for any 'crud' on terminals/posts, cable clamps, and exposed wiring, use a wire bristle brush to scrub clean and expose fresh metal surface

Try lock get it and use the right key to unlock it from the outside drivers door

If check engine light is on now get the codes.even if it's not on get codes. If it is not storing them the computer may be at fault. First thing i would do though is take the battery terminals off and clean them. A battery with a shorting out cell could also do it.

the sensor is part of the latch so that will have to be replaced to fix it. Although water has been known to seep into the latch through the key hole (bad gasket) and fixes itself when it drys out.

The tension you are feeling is probably the pedal spring under the dash to pull the cable back.. Open the bonnet and if you see a cable in the fire wall where the clutch pedal the you have a cable operation and it will need replacing. If you see a master cylinder next to the brake master cylinder then you have hydraulic system and it have to be bled or the master cylinder replaced Talk to a reputable service shop to have it fixed.

check the small earth ******** the baseplate under the points in the distributor and make sure its still soldered to the plate. iff thats all good it may be the ballast resistor between the coil and the distributor.

Standing in front of car looking at the engine, cylinder layout is from left to right > 1--2--3--4 .... So the number one cylinder will be the one that is closest to the 'passenger' side fender. Firing order is 1 4 3 2
