Rear breaks seized on peugeot 206 1.6 2000?
Sounds like the wheel cylinders have siezed up and where the car has been left then tried to move pushing on the brakes has pushed them out but they are too rusty to return in ,only way here is to remove the rear drums with a special puller which will destroy the shoes and the anchor pins that hold the shoes on . A rear shoe kit complete with new cylinders is not expensive for this car and costs about 70 euros
If i change just the case on my key fob, can this effect any electronics on my car, i.e. fuel pump
THAT IS BS!!! Get the car out of there! The fuel pump has NOTHING to do with unlocking doors, alarms, or unlocking the trunk which is what key fobs generally do. They are LEACHES trying to figure a way to separate you from your hard earned money! Use your common sense...what does your key fob actually do? If your conclusion is the same as mine...scram! Find a REPUTABLE mechanic to work on your car or just do it yourself if you are inclined. It ain't rocket science!
Peugeot 206 1,1cc starting issues
The
following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any
electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.
The
engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only
for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the
transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in
most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory
of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as
the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done
is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system
for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for
engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained
technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then
based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the
correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer
replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other
basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with
the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine.
The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear
engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related
problems. Also engine mechanical problems can and do cause many
drive-ability related problem such as rough idle and other symptoms.
I also suggest you buy and read the factory emission repair manuals
High pressure fuel pump
fuel gage after the pump direct and then the line on the and same time before the filters and after the filters clean the tank and fit sum fuel injection cleaner first and see what happen can be the filter before the pump good luck .
Surging car, wont stay running
Replace the Fuel Pump. I had the same problem and i did everything you did to find out that it was the fuel pump. I removed the tank and repaced the fuel pump and bingo! No more problems the car runs like new
How to ajust hand break
Not a Peugeot expert here, but generally the rear brakes have to be adjusted to make the parking brake work. Sometimes the cable going up to the handle can be adjusted too.
My peugoeut 206 brake lights come on as soon as i turn on the ignition
You need to test the "BOO" switch that controls the brake lights, it is located above the brake pedal and the brake pedal arm opens and closes the switch. It of course should be an open circuit with 12 volts at one contact without the application of the brake pedal and a closed circuit with the pedal pressed down (12 volts in and out), Adjust or replace the switch as the testing dictates.
