You say that it attempts but fails. If it turns over, at a normal speed and tries to start and doesn't, check that the fuel is good and new fuel. Not fuel that has been in the tank for a long time. Check the fuel filter to see if it is clogged, Check the fuel injectors to see if they are all spraying fuel and there is enough pressure in the fuel lines. Check fuel pump for proper fuel pressure. High mileage engines check for compression in each cylinder. Possible bad ignition wires or ignition timing is off. Has the engine been steam cleaned recently. Is there water in the fuel? This gives you some things to check. Good luck.

The barrels don't come out of the key lock assembly. It will be far simpler, easier and cheaper to get a new barrel and key from the dealer.

Your security system can effect your starter motor and other components as well. If the security system has a problem, cranking the starter motor will not let it start, because most systems also disable the fuel injectors as well. We can always jump something or bypass just to see if starter motor will crank the engine, but, if security issue, it won't help. Just my opinion. There are safety issues with jumping or bypassing something. Safety is your responsibility.

The panel is held on with screws and then once they are remove there are plastic "Christmas tree" retainers you need to pop loose.

check to make sure you put the right plug wires on them

Get a test light to see if your getting voltage to the socket, then check the wiring behind the socket, if not there its a separation of a wire feeding the other side or a ground loose. Hope this helps.

Could be. Do you have power going to the light ?

First,remove battery,take to Autozone or Walmart,they will check for free,also inspect your battery cables for corrosion and tightness.

Transmission is a possibility, check the transmission fluid, especially if its automatic. Get a color chart for the fluid to help you. if there are metal shavings, the fluid is flakey, looks metallic, glimmers, or leaves grainy texture then take it to a shop. (Just my advice, might not be the issue.)

Sorry motor swap is in your future I may be able to find you one in my area for a decent price and ship it to you. Does it click when you press the button? Also does the other power functions work this is to make sure it is not the switch or fuse.
