You need a skilled auto-electrician, not a mechanic, one that has a high end scan tool computer that can analyze the stored and live data, plus reading any DTC Codes. To me, it sound like you have a failing battery, possibly erratic charging and some bad grounds. The electronics on Mercedes are overly complex.

Some vehicles have separate flashers for indicators and hazards. Look around for another flasher and try changing it.

This code is showing a transmission problem. Your best option is to take the vehicle to a transmission specialist. If you don't know what you are doing gearbox mistakes are VERY expensive to sort out.

Hello. A 'fan clutch holding tool', a 'metric' set of sockets, extensions and a socket wrench are all that is needed to remove/replace your car's water pump. A 'flathead' screwdriver and pliers are needed to remove the fan shroud and ductwork. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

No simple answer, but I would suspect loss of fuel pressure. Scanning for error codes would be a good place to start.

I'm assuming you are refering to the EDC light? Do you have any other lights on the dashboard? EDC stands for 'Engine Diesel Control'. This is the electronics for the fuel supply system. First check the silly stuff. Is there plenty of Fuel in the vehicle? (Yes, I've done that!). When was the Vito given last given a Major Service? Sometimes an old, clogged Fuel filter can cause the light as the electronics is reading a poor fuel supply or water contamination in the filter housing. Get the filters and fluids changed and see if that helps.

I have heard the correct transmission oil level can only be measured with diagnostic equipment and the dipstick is used as a rough check during the initial fill. Not sure where the plug is to remove to use the temporary dipstick.

The hood release is a red lever under the dashboard about shin height. I found the image on a Haynes online manual - Opening the bonnet Mercedes Benz Class 2008 2011 Petrol B180 1 7

Look under the dash for a rectangular door approximately 3" wide by 1" tall. It is located almost under the center of the dash close to the hood latch.

Assuming you didn't drill the lock, it would have been best to access the interior of the vehicle (if not deadlocked, breaking in would be relatively simple) and current could be supplied to the vehicle via the cigar lighter or from under the hood by connecting to the battery circuit in order to use the in-car trunk release if fitted. A way into the trunk can usually be found by removing the rear seat or hooking the keys using a fishing tool through the armrest aperture if there is one.
