2007 Hummer H3 Questions & Answers
I have 2007 h3 hummer not moving reverse gear what's the problem
levels good (tranny dip sticked , hot, idle , in park)
shift linkage not bad. PRNDL
does car move in park if car, is in park, and take off all brakes
can car be pushed,? if yes park is failing too, and is bad shift linkage.
this is step 1 and 2 in the service manual on topic
of like 20 test. on car.
RTM read the manual yet? buy it ?
H3 battery dead and doors are locked
Try charging the battery a bit by snaking the positive jumper cable underneath to the starter post where the big cable connects, and the negative jumper cable to a good ground on the frame.
2007 Hummer H3. Does anyone have a step by step guide for the expansion valve replacement?
no need to unless the compressor blew up.
why not ask a shop to fix it.???
they do a battery of tests and fix it fast. even in hours.
to replace that valve behind the evaporator core on most cars is horror. (nothing less)<< so why we do all tests first not 10 hours labor for zero gained. that be over the top.
THAT act BREAKS OPEN THE LOOP .! best is avoid that.
AND ALL R134A Refrigerant is lost. doing that.
a real shop captures it and looks for metal particles there.
but this a last step. not first and testing is first.
.lots of tests are first.
low-side pressure (30 psi par)
high-side. pressure (300 psi par)
are dampers stuck closed
fuse blow
bad compressor clutch
make sure compressor is ok, first, if is the expansion valve is ok
but there are test just for that.
Dye tests for leaks to be found .
once you break the loop and pump down vacuum pump is manitory
to remove all water there (like 85% humid air ) and if is R134 hates that. and fails,.hard. (weak AC)
and once loop breaks, a new receiver/dryer is need too.
and more, lots more.
My 2007 h3 hummer starts and when i put in gear it dies and the wipers turn on, the wiper wont shut off for several minutes then car restarts after they stop car will restart can take several attempts
Your best bet , take it to a dealer . The wipers are controlled by the BCM - body control module .
The Wiper/Washer System consists of the following components:
• Windshield wiper/washer switch
• Body control module (BCM)
• Wiper micro relay
• Wiper 2 relay
• Wiper diode
• Windshield wiper motor
• Windshield washer pump
• Windshield washer nozzles
• Windshield washer solvent container
• Windshield wiper arm and blade assemblies
• Windshield wiper transmission
• WIP/WASH 10A fuse
• WIPER 25A fuse
Testing for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's should be the first step in diagnostic process . No part store can check code's in BCM.
You have no idea of the complexity of the electronic's on your vehicle.
Moving the ignition switch to the START position signals the body control module (BCM) that engine crank has been requested. The BCM verifies that theft is not active and sends a serial data message to the powertrain control module (PCM) requesting engine start. The BCM also energizes the RUN/CRANK RELAY. When the RUN/CRANK RELAY switch side closes, and the vehicle is in Park/Neutral or with the clutch fully depressed, if equipped, supply voltage is applied to the PCM CNTRL relay coil. The PCM verifies the transmission is in Park/Neutral or if the clutch is fully depressed, if equipped. The PCM will then ground the control circuit of the PCM CNTRL relay, closing the switch suppling voltage to the starter solenoid. On some vehicles the starter will continue to crank the engine with the key released until it starts, the crank command has timed out to prevent excessive heat build up in the starter circuitry or the PCM receives an engine run flag.
2007 hummer3, dash temp guage intermited goes from low to high very fast does it 10 to 12 times then stop and goe s to normal temp, why is it doing this.
Without testing ,hard to say for sure . Gauge could be going bad or the engine coolant temp sensor , wiring for sensor , PCM/ECM etc..... Knowing where that info originates an how it gets to the instrument cluster gauge is key in diagnosing the problem . Having worked at GM dealer ships an having correct tools an information gives me an edge over most . Most people would just replace parts an hope it fixes it . The first place to start would be to hook up a factory or professional scan tool an check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes in the instrument cluster an the PCM/ECM . View live data inputs from the coolant temp sensor to the PCM?ECM - engine computer ,also see if that same info is getting to the instrument cluster . Most usually , if the problem is happening at the time we can't find the fault .
The Coolant temp sensor is an input to the PCM , the PCM sends this if to the instrument cluster on the serial data network . Don't know if you know what that is ?
Engine Coolant Temperature Gage
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the engine coolant temperature as determined by the engine control module (ECM). The IPC receives a serial data message from the ECM indicating the engine coolant temperature. The engine coolant temperature gage defaults to 100°F (40°C) or below if:
• The ECM detects a malfunction in the engine coolant temperature sensor circuit.
• The IPC detects a loss of serial data communications with the BCM.
• The BCM detects a loss of serial data communications with the ECM.
GM did have problems with stepper motors inside instrument clusters 2003 to 2006 . Stepper motors are what control the gauge needles .

What is draining the battery of my H3 Hummer?
it may not be a drain on the battery the alternator may not be charging at the correct rate , this will not always bring on the red charge light if it is just below the range , do you drive at night , use the A/C ,etc things like this can drain the battery whilst driving and not getting re-charged by the alternator. If the charge rate is ok then disconnect the earth cable and put a test light between the earth terminal on the battery and the earth cable , if it lights up then there is a drain , check any interior light that may be on all the time , glove box or under hood are usually overlooked , if no lights found then remove the fuses one by one until the light goes out , that will tell you what circuit the drain is from , then you know where to investigate , loose connection , worn wire etc keep me posted if you wish
