2006 gmc envoy denali 5.3, no oil leaks, 61000 miles, steady vacuum gauge reading at 16, runs and starts very good. Takes 1 quart of oil per 1300 to 1500 miles, no exhaust smoking. Why so much oil ?

Google search GM 5.3 oil consumption. This is a known and common issue. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jeremy_d728a59f986299fa

Why when I turn on the heat it gets cold after a few minutes

Air in cooling system? Blockage? Thermostat failing? Collapsed hoses. there are many reasons why this problem exists. Hot coolant passes through your heater core which is generally located on the firewall of the car. If hot coolant does not circulate into the heater core, it will not pick up the heat and your car heating system will blow cool air. Coolant circulation is most likely the underlying issue. Your water pump may also be failing.

{: ) There are several possible causes and a scan tool is the best way to pinpoint the cause. However, you can check your throttle body for carbon build up. If it is, it must be cleaned. Clean the air filter as well. When done, an idle learn procedure will be required to reset the throttle.

My 2006 GMC Envoy Denali seems to be burning oil-

I am having the same problem and the dealer says they checked for an "over-active lifter" - no luck, checked for leaks (there are none!) and checked the plugs, all of which seemed to be darker than they should be. They said the GMC factory rep told them to squirt some clearner in the combustion chamber which will clean out the carbon built-up around the rings. We are to drive the car for 1,000 miles and check to see if the oil level is down. Personally, it sounds like a lot of BS to me!

Code P0121 on 2006 GMC

Classic signs of idle air control not able to cope with sudden engine loads. Cleaning should resolve this. Remove ducting from air cleaner to throttle entrance. Spray with carb. choke cleaner or WD40 spray and wipe back to the alloy finish. clean the the throttle plate and push the throttle open with your fingers and clean in behind as best you can. Clean the passageways to the idle air control valve. Remove the valve and give it a thorough clean up. Reassemble and it should all be good.

How do I check and possibly replace the engine oil

Oil Pressure Test Check for proper oil pressure at the sending unit passage with an externally mounted mechanical oil pressure gauge. A tachometer may also be needed, as some specifications may require running the engine at a specific RPM.
  1. While the engine is cold, locate and remove the oil pressure sending unit.
  2. Following the manufacturer's instructions, connect a mechanical oil pressure gauge and, if necessary, a tachometer to the engine.
  3. Start the engine and allow it to idle.
  4. Note and record the oil pressure reading when the engine is cold. The engine may need to run at a specified RPM, if so check the vehicle's specification.
  5. Run the engine until normal operating temperature is reached.
  6. Check the oil pressure reading again with the engine hot and record the value. Turn off the engine.
Compare the hot oil pressure reading to the specification. If the reading is low, check the cold pressure reading against the specification. If the cold pressure is well above the specification, and the hot reading was lower than the specification, the engine may have the wrong viscosity oil. Change the oil, making sure to use the proper grade and quantity, and then repeat the test.
Low oil pressure readings could be attributed to internal component wear, pump related problems, a low oil level, or oil viscosity that is too low. High oil pressure readings could be caused by an overfilled crankcase, too high of an oil viscosity or a faulty pressure relief valve.

When im driving betwen 60-70 my 2006 envoy denali

If your sure that the tires are balanced and that all the suspension componets are good then it is time to start looking at the drive train.

The problem will be either an unbalanced drive shaft due to a weight falling off or a bad U joint.

Thanks for using FixYa.

How to change wiper blades on a 2006 envoy denali?

gently raise up the wiper arms and look directly in the middle section of the arm where the blades are seated. You will see a push in clip that has to be pushed inward to relase the wiper blade. While pushing the clip inward hold in in p;ace and wiggle it loose. Then you can move the wiper blade somewhat to remove it. It isn't the asiest thing to change and it is very hard to explain also. Showing you you be alot easier for me but going by these instructions it should come off for you. Installing is not that difficult. Taking them off is the hard part I know
