Hi Edward, if you are only changing the drivers seat with a new one, here's how its done. You'll need to move the seat reward all the way, then remove the 2 bolts holding the seat to the floor, then move the seat all the way forward and remove the 2 bolts holding the seat to the floor. NEXT, tilt the seat up and unplug all connectors that run from the floor to the seat. Thats it, reinstall your new seat in reverse procedure. Hope this helps, have an awesome day Edward.

plugs and wires. everyone replaces plugs but neglects the wires.

it memory serves me . isn't that an o ring seal? make sure all the old seal is removed. clean it good put a light coat of Vaseline on it the when you put it back on turn it slightly as it is starting in to make sure it goes in correctly the snug the bolts not over tighten as it will damage the unit. if the issue persists I would check for a cam bearing issue.

Check the connections on the transmission. The neutral switch needs to be connected or the engine won't start.

Ok, even if the battery is new, get a voltmeter and measure the battery, if its below 12v, thats the problem. That way you completely eliminate all these factors without a doubt. Also check negative wire from battery to the ground box and connections. It sounds more like a corroded terminal.
