first thing to check will be the horn operation. Older horns rust up in the operating mechanism in the horn. Get a replacement horn and put it in place nd see if that is the problem Check for power to the horn as the fuse or relay may be out.
Well, you have special model then as this feature wasn't on any cars since the 1984 Ford Escort. Sounds like the relay for the fan is seized-up, so try swapping-out the relays in the electric box in the engine compartment and see if it goes away - AND don't forget which was the BAD relay.
If you just turn the car off one notch, the radio will stay on. If you turn the key all the way off and remove it, it will stay on for a short time delay, OR until you open one of the doors which will shut if off with the key out.
IIene, this really is not enough information to give you a good answer. Knowing the engine code that came on will be a big help. There are a lot of things that could be causing the problem including sensors, the PCM (computer) and even the alternator! Yes, the alternator, which has caused many other Chrysler vehicles to trip a check engine light and show a transmission solenoid code. It will cause the engine to idle rough and when at a stop in drive, the speedometer shows about 10 to 20 MPH even though the car is not moving. Bad diodes in the alternator play tricks on the PCM causing this issue, but it doesn't sound like you have the same problem. More information is needed. The engine codes and more specific info about whats happening is needed. One cheap part that COULD be the problem is the MAP sensor. Manifold absolute pressure sensor. It's a $20 part and takes 5 minutes to replace. The first thing you need to do is have the codes read. Most automotice parts stores will do this for you for free. Good luck.
Why was the car not in the shop day one, to check for
abs codes & a problem found & resolved?
You don't drive around for months & do nothing with
something you spend tens of thousands of dollars on &
need everyday to get you places, that's neglect
Best not to fool with a pressurized anything unless you're trained. Compressors and the unwary are a bad mix.
You haven't said whether you've purged the system before trying to fire it up, which is a good indicator that you need a pro.
