Flat battery. Your lights and other accessories draw alot less power than starter needs. Have your battery load tested to verify.

I'm guessing under the hood in the power junction fuse box. Or it could be a bad horn relay.

Most likely, engine misfire or a defective oxygen sensor.

Hi,Is your question "Why does my car start sometimes and sometimes it doesn't?" It could be many many issues- which i why your mechanic is having trouble figuring it out. I would first check to be sure your battery is in good shape. if it's more than 8 years old it needs to be replaced.

Please try another bulb before you go for something else. Many times happened to me even the new bulb not working. Advice: just remove the good bulb of brake light you have on driver's side and try it on the passenger side. If it works,surely another bulb. If not,ask for an Electrician to help.

Spark comes from the coils. Which gets a signal from the computer which comes from the cam and crank sensors. If the cam is not turning or a part is broken and the computer won't send a signal to the coils it wont fire. Throttle is for fuel and air mix.

check the basics first. Fuel pressure - there is a shrader (sp?) valve on the fuel rail on the engine where you can check that. Check if there is spark - pull on of the coils and put in a spark plug and crank. It can also be the ignition switch but check the two things above and then you will know where to look for the problem

Maybe size of wheels?

I have noticed when the oil is changed, there is a splash/skid plate near the drain plug and old oil may collect on top of that plate, then drip down later. Worth a look.

are the pluged in correctly? if yes then coil pack is faulty. they are common problem on bmw
