you can use one of the wires from either brake light and make yourself a good ground in trunk and running the two wires to you light switch. be careful where and how you run wires around the trunk hindges as you do not want them to become pinched and short out as that is a safety issue and get you pulled over. always solder and heat shrink all splices and wire to wire connections, if you dont you will hate your self later as wire from front of car to back of car could then need to be replaced. Obd tool won't do that. Obd just reads the codes and clears them. You need to figure out what parameters you want to change then send the ecm out for reprogramming. If you have couple thousand you can probably purchase the reprogramming software, but unless you know what you are doing on this you can set some of the systems up wrong and blow the motor. Your decision though.

That sounds like a very non-standard installation so impossible to say! Perhaps aftermarket alarm, remote starter, tow bar package, or fancy lights.

Question edited for clarity. Until you said it died out when you were driving, the answer was fairly easy. Clean the Throttle body and MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor). Start with that anyway. If it continues to do it, you need a technician with a Scan Tool Computer to analyze all the electronics and live data.

Seems you have a dead battery. Could be anything related to the charging system (alternator, control, wiring) or the battery itself. It takes a methodic process of testing to determine the cause(s).

Start by having battery tested and charged. If the battery checks ok and holds a charge then "likely" the problem is with the charging system, but it's a multistep process of elimination and very few parts store do a complete full load battery test.

If the battery test fails then you'll need to replace the battery and then promptly have the charging system tested to verify its working or you'll have another dead battery.

Once the battery and charging system has been verified functional you need to have a parasitic current test done. Excessive parasitic draw can ruin a new battery in a few months depending on your driving habits. Is this a daily driver or every other week or longer?

Why would anyone remove the pos cable while running. thats how battery gets charged. Hard starting while at op temp? timing retarded to far?

Start with the silly, obvious things first. Check the coils packs are the correct ones and are seated correctly. Check the wiring connectors are also seated correctly. Have you checked for spark on all of the coils? This will test to see if it is the coils themselves or further back in the ignition system. Have you had the vehicle scanned for OBD trouble codes?
