This could be a safety problem have ford run the VIN # to see if your truck is included in this recall. During this mode of nonoperational items the power feed is grounded but not pulling enough amps to blow its fuse but can be burning the wiring until other wires start the same thing then truck is up in smoke.

Did you pre fill the filters and bleed the system as outlined in the factory manual?

Check the fuses in the uinder hood fuse box, one of them will be blown, then find the short.

I am afraid that is a problem under warranty. However, I would advise that you get a copy of the bulletin / tech sheet which states they are aware of the problem and are working on it, and ensure that the dealer stamps it. The fact that they could re-program the truck to turn off the light would certainly count as an indicator that short term fixes are available.

However, I am less than impressed that you have such a late model Ford vehicle, which has been sold to you with an in-built fault, with which the manufacturer is familiar. It's a personal choice, but I would press the Ford people for either a permanent fix now, or an acknowledgement that the problem will be corrected, with a time frame for the resolution.

The fuses are under the hood. And it is not a cigar lighter, it is AUX power point.

tail lights work off different wire than brakes hazards, etc. .It could be in the wiring, or simply the tail light side of the bulb itself has blown. Check the bulbs, it will have to separate filaments, if one of them is burnt into, tail lights will not work
