My 2006 f350 6.0l diesel
I suppose it would have just been out of warranty?
Anyway, it is very easy, because it is just an external, belt driven, pump.
There are just a couple of hoses and the tensioning adjuster, and the hold down bolt.
Repair manuals on 2006 ford
Autozone web site offers do it yourself stuff on there and it's free. It is hit or miss though if pwer steering ison there but you can try.
When turbo boost is over
i assume you are driving a 2008 superduty with a 6.4 liter. it should not lose power when in cleaning mode thatg is that drasticaly noticeable. be sure your maintenace is up to date. the first thnig our shop manual tells us is to check oil change and to change as needed. if you havent noticed the oil leel "grows" as you drive, if it gets high enough it can have an adverse afect on the engines performance. be sure to use original equiptment filters, and i suggest full synthetic motorcraft diesel oil. as a second note to your concern, there is/was a recall on performance for the 6.4 liter, recall #11b23. it is a computer upgrade for the engine, this too may help. your engine carries a 5 year 100,000 warranty from ford, if still under this, i would strongly suggest checkeding for recalls, oil change and seeing your local ford dealer! hope this helps ya!
Have no tail lights. Can
sounds to me like a short circuit on your light cluster. check for shorted out pins, or, even more possible is that a single contact bulb has been put in a double contact holder. Remove all bulbs and replace and test them one at a time as you replace them.
Just filled the gas tank
A loose connection on the sending unit could cause the problem but also moisture in the tank in cold weather could also be a factor in which i would add fuel line antifreeze to a full tank of fuel..........Hope this helps you out.
DTC = P1249
P 1249 is Wastegate Control Valve Performance. this is a part of the turbo. More than likely the wastegate actuator is sticking.
2004 f350 s.d. 5.4 run
sounds like semi pluged fuel injectors try a bottle of techron buy chevron goes in your gas----drive a 100 miles on freeway to clean fuel injectors and valves,, pistons, rings, o2 senser 2 bottles per oil change
Usees cooloant
If you have no leaks in the engine bay & no moisture in passenger front floorboard, check for white smoke at tail pipes, this a sign of a blown headgasket. The coolant would seems to just disappear because it is leaking into the cylinders & being burned off as steam in this case. If you find a wet floorboard or steam inside windshield it is likely to be the heater core.
How do you replace 2001
I take the air conditioner compressor out of the way and set it aside with all the lines still connected. the fuel filter and it's bracket has to be unbolted and moved up and towards the driver side I don't disconnect any lines from it either, I just raise it a few inches and hold it with a rubber cord. I use a ball ended allen wrench to take the two bolts out and as thier easy to drop I use a magnet touching the wrench to keep from dropping the bolt. I've been luckly with the washers as thier stainless and the magnet hardly picks them. I've got long long nosed pliers and I pick the stuff out as if you drop them thier going to the bottom of the valley and all kinds of parts have to be removed to get them out. with the bolts put up you can grab the senser with long nosed ring ended pliers, other wise you've got to remove the brackets on the front of the motor that hold the belt tensioner and the air conditioner compresser. Insertthe new senser with the pliers that you removed the senser with and have the bolts and washers in it, as you set the senser in use the ball ended allen to start the bolts before you set the senser all the way in. If this sounds hard to do with out dropping someting and those that watch me do it, say they know that their not steady enough do do this. So you might be looking for someone to hire to change it. Get a price first I do it for $100. In Lexington Ky.
My factory radio in my
Hi,
Regarding the exact part number for your truck, you need to take the VIN number to the dealer and he would be able to decode the same for you. You could use radio for other ford models, but the main problem would be harness as you might find it tough to get harness. There could be few options you could consider :-
1. Contact the below. They used to repair and exchange the old radio for a refurbished one :-
http://oem-auto-accessory.com/repair_us___company_info.html
They would make sure that you would get all accessories/ harness that is required to fit your vehicle.
2. Contact the below as they offer best price for a new radio :-
http://replacementradios.com/product_info.php?products_id=1353
3. If you are looking for a used radio, either search ebay or salvage yard. You could get good deals. I would avoid using other year radio as in the past there were certain reports regarding problem getting harness or compatibility.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
