i think i would contact a different dealer. it sounds like a bad computer, but either way, that is a safety issue and should be corrected. you might want to purchase a code reader and find out what code its being triggered. these are not very expense and are really handy to have. about 20.00 at newegg.com. Check these codes and then ask for help from a different dealer or an out side mechanic.

some models are under the rear section of center console. It needs to be reprogrammed if you replace it. Also there is some recalls on the hhrs

Look on the brake pedal lever for an electric switch. Replace the switch and see if that works. If not, get under the vehicle and look for a loose wire on the transmission. If this doesn't work, you will have to take the vehicle to a transmission shop. There is likely a loose wire or a bad servo inside the transmission. But the shop will first run a diagnostic check. They will then know what the problem is and repair it.

If he didn't clear the computer fault codes the light will come back on. Usually the light will go off after about 30 miles of driving after the problem is fixed if the codes were not manually cleared. Take your car to another mechanic.

First thing to check is all the brake lights including the third light they must all work to complete the curcuit. Then the fuses if they are all good then you will need to have the cruise module tested

It could be the wire from the alternator to the ECM. Or the ECM has shorted.

run the fault codes to check for possible sensor failures. this could be injector related but it will be difficult to find as the rpm range is only 300 rpms. This could equate to a down shift of the transmission as there is about 300rpm between ratios in the box.

Take off the door panels, and check connection to the speakers, and trace it back through the door wiring and see if there are any breaks or kinks in the wire, or anywhere the outer coating has come off. It sounds like you may have a short in the system, something isnt grounded right. It can be a long, tiring process attempting to find the issue, but it is the only way. Something that would be cheaper than taking it to a dealer would be to find a local stereo store, and either have them trace it for you (they can use an ohmometer to check resistance and connection), or just have them put standard speakers in and possibly a new deck. It is hard to say without having the vehicle, but it is a wiring issue from the sounds of it. Breaks in wires can come from pinching in the body, under seeats, in door panels, or harnesses connecting to the doors.

check the manifold gaskets, upper and lower. maybe they are bad and coolant is mixing with the oil, and burning it up and throwing it out the exhaust pipe, witch will cause it to smoke. check the oil to see if coolant is entering it. on dip stick, also check to see if coolant in recovery tank has oil in it. I had a problem with oil getting to coolant, on a 2000 malibu, changed gaskets and did a good flush. before filling it back up with coolant. No problems it run good. Good-Day!

posted to 2010 , is this a DIY question? or just trying to guess labor hours? replacing any water pump is the same on most engines only gaining ACCESS IS THE TRICK. so RTM , read the FSM it covers the pump, every step' or login to alldata.com its there. too. how to fish..... click engine cooling. click water pump, BINGO. you are ENABLED. 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

CAUTION NEVER open, service or drain the radiator or cooling system when hot; serious burns can occur from the steam and hot coolant.

1. Drain the engine cooling system.
2. Remove the water pump pulley shield.
3. Remove the water pump drive belt.
4. Remove the water pump inlet and outlet hoses from the water pump.
5. Remove the three water pump to left cylinder head retaining bolts.
6. Remove the water pump and water pump housing from the vehicle.
7. Remove the water pump to water pump housing retaining bolts and separate the water pump from the water pump housing.

if just one wiper arm is working then there might be something wrong with the linkage between the two wiper arms. there is only one wiper motor so if one arm is working that eliminates it as the problem. also check the connection between the wiper arm and the linkage. if you can move the arm when the wipers are off the connector may be stripped out. this happens a lot in the winter when people try to clear a heavy load of snow from the windshield with the wipers. it might also be just be loose and need adjustment

check oil level in resevoir and check for leaks if its not a visable problem get a good macenic to look at it
