Determining reason for check engine light in 06 chevy aveo
possible oil pressure switch, oil pump itself, or rod bearing issues due to poor oil change history. (that last one is more of a knock that a tick)
Sounds for sure like you aren't getting the proper oil pressure and the ticking would most likely be the cam/rockers/valves letting you know they need more oil on them.
07 aveo will turn over but not start. checked the fuses, what else?
Fuel supply check is first. Locate the fuel line port that looks like a tire valve stem and is running to each cylinder, remove the cap and release the pressure with a screwdriver. If the fuel is present it will squirt out so watch your eyes. If no fuel, check to see if you can hear the gas pump start when the key is turned to the run position. Remove the gas cap and have someone turn the key so the dash lights come on. You should hear a whirring sound that will shut off when the pump pressurizes. If you don't have pressure in the line and you don't hear the whirring, your fuel pump or relay should be checked. If you have fuel pressure in the line, Spark is the next thing to check. Pull a wire off one of the spark plugs and see if you have a spark to ground. (You put a screwdriver in the end and without your hand touching any metal, move the metal close to the engine and have someone crank (tap) the engine. IF you have several coil packs, check each one. If you have spark and fuel, the last thing that I would do is find the fuel pump relay under the hood in the fuse box. And pull it out. Crank the engine. Don't be surprised if it starts. Put the fuse back in. If this works your fuel pump is going. If it still doesn't start, I would look at replacing the cam position sensor.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site Sharleen. Since your vehicle is 2009, I am going to say that something may have come loose. You still want to check your fuse. All you have to do is change the fuse out with another, same size and color. The fuse box diagram should be on the box. There is a chance it may have caused a spark or blew the fuse. You want to check that first. If it doesn't work, replace it and if it does, it will rule out the fuse. You could also have a front end reset button on the front of your vehicle. I am not for certain if you do, but it is possible. But if the horn is the only thing that is not working, the reset wouldn't be the cause. I believe you have a loose wire in the wiring harness of your horn, or a loose connection. It is hard to get to though. There are a lot of things that have to be taken off to check them. It could still be the fuse. Check the fuse first. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and thanks for using FixYa.
