If the running boards bind in any way when attempting to fold or unfold the system will automatically shut off. There's most likely corrosion or dirt in the hinges that is making the power running board motor strain. Set the running boards to "always out", give the running board hinges a good wash, let them dry, then lube all of the pivot points on the hinges with a good spray lube. Not WD40, as that attracts water and will make the problem worse. A spray GREASE, like "Endura" is ideal. The wash and lube may help for a while, but usually the hinges have to be replaced to correct the problem.

that has to be about the most difficult to find diagram ever, unless you sign up to any one of hundreds of download sites !

Eventually found something that might well give you what you are looking for.
Found it here: https://www.fordforumsonline.com/threads/95-07-windstar-service-manual-pdf.8878/

On that page you will eventually come to a posting from July 6th 2017 where another site member posted a link to a full manual:which I tested and downloaded / saved it. I scanned the download using Avast Antivirus and it's healthy.
File opens no problem at all in Adobe Acrobat.
Here's the link:

The O/D OFF indicator is a dual function indicator. It will illuminate when the transmission overdrive is turned off and will also blink off and on if a transmission fault is detected.
Take it to a qualified repair shop .

According to therangerstation.com, No. The bellhousing pattern are different. I am also not sure that the electronics would work either. Here is what they say:

3.0l Vulcan engine has a unique bolt pattern, doesn't cross over to any other engine's pattern.

Rangers engines that did share the same trans bolt pattern were, 2.8l, 2.9l 4.0l OHV, 4.0l SOHC

According to the manual, the 2011 Ford Escape does not use hydraulic power steering. The rack and pinion steering gear that is used with the Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) system is a manual (non-hydraulic) steering gear that is contained within a 1-piece die castaluminum housing. The power assist is provided by a 12-volt, 65 amp brush-less motor, mounted to the steering column. The steering column and motor/module are serviced as an assembly.

There should be a small connector on the steering column, under the steering column plastic shroud (column mounted shifter) or under the center console for floor mounted shifter.

If your truck doesn't have a manual lock at the front hub, I would check your vacuum cups behind your hubs. I am not that familiar with the Ranger line, but my F-250 had this issue and the auto hubs are vacuum actuated and the rubber seals were bad.

I do not believe that this vehicle has a neutral safety switch. I believe that it has a Clutch Pedal Position Switch. It is attached to the clutch pedal itself.
