nobody can guess cars, you just tell firts what it is.
the car needs service, (CEL /SED lamp glows ) means that.
so get it serviced or learn to do that and buy the service manual to learn. tests.
tick over = idling. sure.
my guess it needs fuel and filters. (they are clogged)
2.0L diesel engine it is.
it needs to be scanned for sure.
a very expensive car!, so never serviced it?
You will need a compatible with Mercedes OBDII code reader to scan the car for any error codes.
If you can afford it, purchase one and it will pay off for itself after couple uses since dealer's diagnostic charge is $150-$200 in US.
Or you could go to official Mercedes shop and they will reset it for you.
Question edited for clarity, you forgot Herr. Benz.
Question moved from Spanish Car maker category Seat, (pronounced See-At) and nothing to do with car seats.
Can you hear the motor running? It can only be 5 things
Fuses
The Switch
The Motor
The linkage and drive
The Power Seat Module
Look underneath with light and mirrors. Or remove the seat to look.

Waiting for oil to drain from the upper engine to the bottom oil pan. It is all explained on the forums and in the attached video.
How do I get my Mercedes out of anti-theft mode?
Look for a button that allows you to slide the physical key out of the fob.Step 2: Turn the vehicle key to unlock the car door without releasing it.Hold the key for 30 seconds in this position. This will signal to your car's system that you have the right key, and will enable you to bypass your car's alarm system.

Pay close attention to the sound of the engine while it cranks over. The cylinders shd all sound the same as it cranks. If it sounds funny, the head gasket has been damaged. That is an expensive repair If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gary_9c859f4aa7e5ab10
Get this looked at as soon as you can, ignoring it will cause extra wear on other parts pushing the cost of repairs from 'Ouch' to 'Aaaarrrgh!'.
The thump may not be the brakes. Does it thump as bad if you do it in reverse? As the vehicle brakes it's entire weight shifts forward so the most likely cause will be something worn out on the suspension, usually parts like a worn rubber bushing, worn shock absorbers (dampers), or a broken spring. Get all four corners of the suspension checked over as sounds can travel and appear to be coming from a different area of the car.
As to the camber. It should have a tiny amount of negative camber as this helps prevent 'Wheel Tuck'. This is where the wheel and tyre tilts or folds under the vehicle during hard cornering. Tucking can 'pop' the tyre off the rim risking the vehicle tipping sideways and rolling over.
This model has its fuel tank in two compartment. one on the right, the other on the left. When you fill it full tank, both sides will be filled. When engine is running, the fuel pump sucks fuel from only (RIGHT SIDE) of the compartment. And the excess fuel is sent back to the LEFT SIDE of the compartment via the return pipes.
When you reach half tank mark, the fuel in the RIGHT compartment dries out and the engine dies out but the fuel gage still show half tank.
This setup depended on the siphoning effect by the pipes in the tank to suck fuel from the other tank and send it to the pump side tank.
Read this forum on how to they solve the problem.
