2009 Toyota Prius - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Sometimes does not start
you may have a wire shorting out or a bad connection not plugged in something like that or even a bad ground. or a bad component. check with the dealer to see if they had any recalls or service notices for your car to help with your issue. they may want to charge you to fix it but unless they know what the issue is that may be vary costly.

Engine warning light stays on
It's the check engine light..
Take it down to Auto Zone or another auto parts store
And have them check the engine codes.
It could be something like a sensor or something more serious.

I have a P0A94 CODE and PA094 pd
prius huh, one of the most complex cars made and you want
DIY diagnosis? ever work high voltage and currents?
if not get it fixed.
first connect a prius aware scan tool and see if there are more DTCs.
Trouble Code: p0a94
DC / DC Converter Performance
Trouble Code Conditions:
The monitor will run whenever the following DTC is not present: - Boost converter overvoltage (OVL) signal detection (circuit malfunction)
Possible Causes:
- * Inverter with converter assembly
this is high voltage system, and has killed mechanics fiddling it with out HV certifications.

Open the doors, on the door jamb of each door is a small switch with a diagram that shows the switch position to turn the locks on and off.

Red attention indicator and all of the other
I can't be sure what is causing the dash lights to come on like that. There are so many things that sets them off. You may need to change the battery in your remote on that matter.
I can let you try one thing though. Lets try to reset the computer. In order to do this you will need to remove the negative battery cable. Once it is removed then turn your key to the on position and turn on the headlights and radio and heater. This will drain all resrve power and you need to let it sit for 30 minutes with everything on. Then go back out and turn everything back off and don't forget the ignition switch back to the off position.
The re-attach the battery cable. be sure it is good and tight and you can not turn the cable end with your hands.
Go back in and see if it will start or what the case may be. HOLD ON!! Lets check all the fluid levels.
This will include windshield wiper resivor and brake resivor, oil, Transmission fluid if automatic. Remeber the dip stick on an automatic is measured in pints and not quarts unlike the oil dip stick which is quarts even though the tranny fluid comes in quarts. You make sure the emergency brake is on and put it in neutral with the car running to check the fluid level in the transmission. If you need some added then turn off the motr to add and restart to check again.
Check radiator water level too. Also power steering fluid level. You never know what will set these stupid things off. It could be so simple and nothing to worry about at all but in order for the auto industy to make more money they set this up so you have to take it in. I hate the greedy Bas&&^())+rds. Sorry but they really get to meeee!! LOL
For my own piece of mind check the air filter too.
When you get the filter out hold it up to the sun and make sure light is trying to seep through. If it looks dark with no light then it needs to be replaced.
After everything is check in the fluid market then lets check the fuses. One by one remeove a fuse and see if it is burnt through the wire you will see in the little window of the fuse. If it lloks solid replace it back to same slot. If you find one burnt then replace it with the same amp type fuse. Your rig may and some extra fuses in the fuse box. Even if you find one burnt out and you replace it just keep checking the rest one by one. Sometimes more then one goes. If all looks good under the dash fuse box see if there is another set of fuses under the hood. There should be. They will be larger most likly. Check them and compare them to one another to see if they are bad.
Ok, if all that is done then lets try the restting of the computer. Follow my instructions above and let me know how it turns out. Good Luck, The Raz
