The fuel filter is inside the fuel tank no replacement until fuel pump goes out.

Im pretty sure you can rule out the rke being the problem because of the fact that you said the same thing happens when using your other key.Most every car made has 3 main components to the the ignition switch. There is the mechanical portion which is the part the key goes in then there is the electrical portion which butts up against the mechanical portion and they are encased in what is known as an ignition switch cylinder. What happens usually is the electrical portion which is made out of plastic wears out from continuous use . This is not an uncommon thing. Happens all the time. Even the fact that it doesn't always happen is common. Take it to a reputable mechanic and explain exactly what is happening and they should be able to help you out. Good Luck!

use a code reader to reset the CPU program as removing the battery from the system then restoring it some times corrupts the CPU program and creates problems rather than fixing them

Probably rust and corrosion has frozen it in place. Put a socket, long extension, and 1/2 inch ratchet wrench on it-put a little force on it-it has to come loose.

random missfires can be caused by several things.yes plugs is usually the first thing people think is the cause,however,bad or dirty injectors,sticking valves,poor fuel pressure,dirty fuel filter and several other things.since you have replaced plugs,i am assuming you gapped the plugs to specs,i would check fuel pressure and if you have not changed the fuel filter for a while i would change it.since its a saturn they are known for the valve system getting dirty and causing the valves to stick in the guides.have the fuel induction system cleaned as this will usually clean the valve system and stop the valves from sticking.have this done at a shop that can perform this type of work as the chemical that you buy at a parts store is not the same.just somethings to check out.
