Replace cooling fan IS 250 Lexus

How do you know the fan is defective, Has the system control module been scanned and the fan circuit failed?? This is a rare failure that is why all the questions. Have the cooling fan tested with a factory tester to assure you are not wasting money on replacing a perfectly good fan motor.

Where is the switch to turn off the Oil Main. Light?

Here I have two ways to try:

1.- Way, I think this should work with your model...
a) With your car OFF, place your key in the ignition and turn to "On". Do not start the car.
b) Find the odometer button and press until it reads the total odometer setting, (not the Trip A or Trip B setting).
c) Turn the key to OFF.
d) Place your finger back on the odometer button, press and hold. Then while still holding the button, turn the key back to "On" (not START).
e) Hold the odometer button in until the MAINT REQD light goes out...should take about 8-10 seconds.

2. Way, to reset the oil change system, follow the procedure below:
a) Turn the engine switch OFF.
b) While pressing the trip meter reset knob (→P. 100), set the engine switch to the IG-ON mode. Continue to press and hold the knob until the trip meter displays 000000.

From the owners manual, 4-3 Do it yourself maintenance

Hope help with this.

How to remove a 06 Lexus is250 ECU and mainly the junction block mounted inside the case that sits above the ECU

  1. Locate the ECU: The ECU is typically mounted under the hood of the vehicle, near the firewall.
  2. Disconnect the battery: To avoid any electrical shock or damage, disconnect the negative battery cable before beginning the removal process.
  3. Remove the cover: There is likely a cover or panel that needs to be removed to access the ECU. This may be held in place with screws or clips.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connections: The ECU will have several electrical connections that need to be disconnected before it can be removed. These connections may include plugs, wiring harnesses, and other components.
  5. Remove the mounting screws: The ECU is usually mounted to the vehicle with screws. Remove these screws to release the ECU from the mounting bracket.
  6. Remove the ECU: Once the screws are removed, the ECU should come out relatively easily. It may need to be lifted out over the junction block or other components.
  7. Remove the junction block: The junction block is mounted above the ECU and may be held in place with screws or clips. Once the ECU has been removed, the junction block should be easy to access and remove.
Note: It's important to follow the steps carefully and to be cautious when removing electrical components from a vehicle. If you're not confident in your abilities, consider hiring a professional mechanic to remove the ECU and junction block for you.
