Dash cluster removal.
If you have a digital display cluster:Remove the body ignition fuse 14. Remove the steering column trim cover. Lower the steering column. Remove the five screws under the upper edge of the instrument cluster trim plate. Pull outward on the upper edge of the trim plate, working around the entire panel. The lower part is held in by trim clips, they can be stubborn. Disconnect all of the switch connectors behind the trim plate and remove it. Remove the screws holding the cluster in place, I believe there are four, maybe six. Pull the cluster forward, disconnect the electrical connectors (there is no speedometer cable) and pull it out.
How do I remove the instrument cluster in a 1988 Olds Toronado?

Purge tvs
Most likely a purge Thermal Vacuum Switch. The vacuum switch part will have at least two vacuum hoses connected to it. The bottom portion is a threaded brass fitting with a sealed copper-wax pellet (like a thermostat) that screws into the water jacket of the engine. When the engine gets warm, it allows vacuum to be passed from the source hose to the control hose.
I am trying to find
Hi Fiftie4. I would suggest going to a salvage yard that has a Toronado with the dash still in it and remove the Door Chime Module yourself, pay for it on your way out. They are not gonna take the time to pull a part that might sell for only a few bucks. If you call the salvage yard and ask them if they have the Chime module they will tell you they don't have it because they don't want to be bothered pulling a part that isn't worth the money ( most salvage yards) or their time to pull it. Hope this helps.
92 Toronado headlight doors don't seem to stop when doors are closed.
I would check the headlamp door open and close relays first. One or both of them may be bad. It might be a bad headlamp door motor assembly as well. Is there anything blocking the doors from closing all the way? Have you tried closing and opening them manually? You can remove the rubber boot from the door motor knob and turn it by hand.
What are the probable causes of DTCs P0017 and P0047?
A 1992 model should be OBDI so -
code 17 is a problem with spark control which involves the ignition module, and code 47 is not listed for that model.
Code 47 is generally used when there is a problem between the engine computer and the body computer, but a 92 model would not have a body computer.
Front end alignment.
You don't. You take it to a reputable service garage that does front-end alignments and pay them to do it.
There is no way to do it by hand.
