first off the posted TITLE is wrong , it is a no crank.
it will
never start if you cannot get the starter motor to spin. ever.!
mine can with m/t box but not this A/T BOX tranny.

you do know a 6 year old battery can in fact fail and in FACT can be intermittant (i can name 2 ways inside the battery that can cause it but to any tech we do tests to find it or learn to jumper cable start any car that WILL NOT CRANK off 2nd donor car running
or call AAA auto club tow and tell the person to jump your car.
1: battery lugs rusty or loose or omg both, is first. we use tool called a lug cleaner brush.
2: then jumper cable jump your battery or barrow a battery from a good car, and try it.????????? easy no,
yes batteries fail at 6 or 7 years, yes, and my personal record is 10 years on one car ever, mine ,50 years driving. just 1 lasted 10.
first we use good battery. clean lugs
then turn the key and make sure IMMO is not unhappy.
the immoblizer on some cars cut starter and fuel both.
this is the common electrical chain.
- battery FAILURE, OR INTERMITTENT ! LUGS Corroded.
- immo NOT HAPPY,?? or fuses blown. (now part of missing key switch. just push button now.
- PRNDL (SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND CRANK IF PARK FAILS
- STARTER RELAY DEAD.
- START MOTOR DEAD. (it can be hot wire tested,ask)
- ANY WIRE IN THIS ABOVE PATH BAD IT WILL NOT CRANK.
as it fails scan the PCM and it tells you why it failed.(as failed)
NO REMOTE START KIT HACKS
A USA SPEC CAR.(I only answer for these)
NO AFTERMARKET ALARMS HACKED IN
OR OTHER ODD HACKS ENDLESS SOME FOLKS DO.

where the key is not inserted, and is say in the pocket.
and dash has only button marked start.
the PCM/BCM does the cranking for you but the IMMO lamp must be watched.
if you push this and engine is dead (say EFI spark dead)
the engine starter cranks load and fast as you push it.

read page 5-15 for emergency start. (battery failed rules) here.
limit cranking to 5 sec, max and wait 1min to let starter cool off.
