Fault code P1656 on the Mahindra Scorpio points to a malfunctioning OCV control circuit. The OCV, i.e., the oil control valve, is to keep the cam shaft timing in place, and this is monitored by the ECM. The ECM does this by ensuring that the camshaft angle is correct by looking at the camshaft position sensor or the timing chain. The problem may have occurred because of a wiring issue.

Not very wise to assume the check engine light came on for no reason. The way to avoid disappointment is to always expect the worst. The light is on for a reason and there could be a fault code stored and you need to know what it is for future reference.

It is true it is usual to initially cancel the code and see if it recurs...

I am not sure which diagnostic reader is suitable but I hear Indian stuff has slightly different electronic systems to everyone else though common to South Asia.

I suggest you check in the handbook to establish the precise function of the (flashing) engine light and then ask around for somebody local with suitable software/diagnostic equipment...

Spray some starter fluid in the intake. If it runs for a few seconds, the problem is probably the fuel pump.

Have your service centre look at brake caliper front left side. I suspect it's dragging a little bit and it would get exaggerated at speed.

unpluggthe eletrical connector to your fan ,clean the connectrors and plug back up..if connector is melted replace with new connector

If it's low, it will make a humming noise whe you turn the steering whell. If it's belt driven and belt is loose, it will make a squeeling noise
