You can't possibly have the vacuum machine and scale to do this job properly. 'Freon' hasn't been used for years, it is R-134a. You either have a massive leak so there is no pressure, or the flare on the hoses to the gauges in incorrect. Helpful links make sure you buy R-134a, cars don't come with Freon anymore. Jun 30, 2011

Hi. Sorry but the question isn't clear. I know that the cruise control can be repaired. But what type of diagnostic information are you looking for? To find the source of the failure my shop would run diagnostics. Possible failures would include faulty blake light switch, worn or dirty cruise control switch, broken clock spring or issue with power or ground. If issue persists after rotating tires then the issue has to be something with the front end components. Dealers will f--k you financially - I would try to get some good, local mechanic to deal with issue. Look for recommendations.

With a backup camera I installed on my wife's Pathfinder, there was a power wire that connected to the backup light power. So when the backup lights came on in reverse, the camera got power, sent a video signal to the dash radio screen, and it would automatically switch to that input. You might have a bad wire/connection supplying power to the camera.

If the CV joint is defective it will make a loud clicking noise when you turn the wheel sharply.

Could be the neutral safety switch. Pull out the start relay and interrogate the relay socket with a volt/ohmmeter. One terminal should always show zero ohms to ground. One terminal should show 12vdc when the key is turned to start. One terminal should show a few ohms to ground (this terminal goes to the starter solenoid). The last terminal should show 12vdc from the pcm when the transmission is in park or neutral. This is the signal I suspect you will not get. Did you check the brake fluid level? A low level might cause the light to come on.
If it's 1997 or newer, and then likely OBD2, take it to a local autozone or similar parts store. Most should scan and clear codes for free, hoping you will then buy parts from them.

If you haven't already, try draining the transmission fluid and replacing it with new. It's recommended to complete this service every 60,000 miles. Also try adding Rislone transmission additive. It worked wonders on my Ford Escape! If you have the fluid changed by someone else, it's advisable to NOT flush the system. The pressure caused by vacuuming it out could create more harm than good.

Possibly the handle, used to position the seat, has internally "stripped out". Take the handle off and inspect the inside splines. If stripped, replace the handle.

You need to have an OBD2 fault code test run.
