Vapor lock when the engine is runnig. How do I fix this issue
"Vapor lock" is a condition that occurs when fuel becomes heated to the point of evaporation. If your vehicle is truly vapor locking, it means that something hot is coming in contact with your fuel line somewhere, overheating the gasoline to the point of it vaporizing. This is HIGHLY UNLIKELY. If you truly do have a vapor lock condition, find out where the fuel is becoming heated and fix that condition.
On a 1997 Jaguar XK8, it is FAR more likely that you have a bad fuel pressure regulator or a bad ICU.
Why is shifter stuck in park?
There's an electric solenoid that locks the gear selector. It is controlled by the vehicle computer. The vehicle computer checks to see that you're good to go (engine running) before releasing the gear shift solenoid. I had the vehicle computer go bad on me one day and the vehicle gear selector was locked in park. Towed my XK8 to a Jaguar dealer, a recycled vehicle computer installed, and solenoid release worked again for my car.
Cruze control dosen't work
First does the light on the switch on the console light up? It's behind the gearshift, not on the dash or steering wheel. If not, check your fuse box then check the switch. If it lights up, then your cruise control is also connected through your brake light switch. I suggest renewing it before proceeding further. If it still doesn't work, there is a vacuum "T" on the passenger side of the throttle body, (US car that is), near your fuel rail and regulator. It feeds the regulator and the cruise control vacuum servo's in back of the front passenger side wheel well. Check this "T" for leaks. Make sure the vacuum servo (the big shiny chrome one on top of the throttle body, is connected. The error is probably electrical, not vacuum since it's bringing up a light on the dash.

P1000 code how do I remove this code
Hi, now it depends, I take you have a code reader? if so you should have a code reset? If the car is as you said, remove and clean injectors, I know its a pain, but as the car is not running this is the only way to clean them.
I hope this helps. What code reader are you using to know its code: P1000
Convertible top oil
CHF 11S use a large syringe with a rubber or plastic tube on the end to suck it out of the bottle and get it in the oil tank. You will have to find out where the oil was lost from my guess is the rams that operate the conv top take out the back seat only a 2 min job and look on the floor pan and around the rams for oil good luck.
Remove belt
Need to use a stethoscope to listen for noise
Could be you need a new radiator & thermostat
& change all the hoses ,as well as the pump
15 year old vehicle, time to put some work into it.
The pump, if it hasn't leaked yet, it will & you may feel
play in it once free from any drive belt or pulley
I was referring to ALL hoses,heater & others,they need
to go around every 8 years
There is no checking of a water pump other than removing it
They don't last for 15 years
Runs hot because the radiator is clogged or stat stuck
or you have ignition problems, blocked exhaust converter, etc
ALL ALL of those need to be checked once your done working
on the cooling system
New spark plugs, check ignition for misfires, replace any converter
over 12 to 14 years old, oxygen sensors every 100,00 miles
Coolent light stays on but not overheating
inside the top up tank there is a little float, I usually locate it and just work it up and down with a screwdriver, lots of times as the float can get stuck, failing this check the little sender unit under the said tank, but I must stress KEEP AN EYE ON TEMP GUAGE. This is a proper pain as I experience this often but used to it now, once a week when checking water level I just put screwdriver in and bounce the little float. hope this helps
How to raise the top
common prob. with early xk is the hood fluid turning to jelly, the answer is to clean out the system. ie pipework, resovoir etc. to open the hood, open the valve on the pump, located in boot rh, remove blanking plug in headlining. use allen key to release forward hood latch, the hood can then be worked manually.to change the fluid you have to remove the forward hood latch. disconnect pipes, press the hood switch to pump out the old fluid, remove the pump and drain out the old fluid, work the hood manually 3 or 4 times to extract the remaining old fluid, the correct fluid to put back is pentosill it will bleed itself.if this is not the cause of the prob. then its electrical. go to a auto electrician you will need a wiring diagram of the system to sort that out, its got loads of relays e.t.c. and is controlled through the body processor module.
Cant get my Jaguar to turn over while jump starting the battery
Sounds like your starter may be shorted out. That is A LOT of juice flowing when a jump occurs, so most any engine will at least turn over. Load test the starter. Load test the alternator. Perhaps one of those is the culprit.
