Interior Lights Dimming Circuit Description VF Displays When the ignition switch is in the RUN position, the instrument cluster activates its VF display. The instrument cluster also coordinates the display illumination for the radio (IRC), the cellular telephone (PHN), and the climate control Panel (CCP) anytime the ignition switch is in the RUN position. Incandescent Dimming 1 (INC DIM 1) The INC DIM 1 consists of lamps powered by CKT 8 (GRY). These are referred to as the park lamp backlighting because they are only active if the park lamps are on and the ambient light sensor indicates darkness. Incandescent Dimming 2 (INC DIM 2) The INC DIM 2 output is used as a general interior light source and an illuminated entry feature that provides interior lighting. The INC DIM 2 consists of lamps powered by CKT 1244 (BRN). When one or more of the following conditions occur, the INC DIM 2 lamps will be active: • The interior lamps switch is active. • The park lamps are on and the ambient light sensor indicates darkness • The ignition switch is in the RUN position and the ambient light sensor indicates darkness • A Class 2 message is received from the body control module (PZM) indicating that the courtesy lamps are active. Dimming The instrument cluster controls all of the interior dimming functions. The instrument cluster receives an ambient light level input from the ambient light sensor and determines whether it is light or dark. If the ambient light sensor is inoperative, the instrument cluster will assume a condition of darkness. Dimming of the VF displays is only allowed when the ignition switch is in the RUN position, the park lamps are on, and the ambient light sensor indicates darkness. If all conditions for the VF dimming are met, the instrument cluster uses the input from the potentiometer in the headlamp switch to determine the level of dimming. The dimming level is sent to the radio (IRC), the cellular telephone (PHN), and the climate control panel (CCP) via a Class 2 message. These modules then adjust the dimming level of their VF display. The instrument cluster provides dimming control of the incandescent lighting through the INC DIM 1 and INC DIM 2 outputs. The instrument cluster provides dimming control of the electronic PRNDL LED through CKT 1382 (PPL/WHT). Nope, they didn't know what a limp mode was back in 88. You might try running an additive through for a bit, then doing a filter and fluid change, but those early ones were fully mechanical exept for the lockup on the converter.

It is the winter. What you see as water is just condensation from the water that is in the fuel at molecular level. The test is, Are you losing water from the coolant system? Water is nowhere new the valve stems, just oil. Leave everything as it is. Re-evaluate in summer. The head gasket can be tested with a coolant system pressure test.

If all the lights on your dash seem to be off, the problem could be a bad fuse.

Locate the knob por dial that control the brightness of dashboard light.

Make sure the brightness control is turned on. If it is and the lights aren't working, the problemas may be a bad fuse.

Use your car manual and locate the dash fuse the fuse box is between under the steering wheel and the door. Pull out the fuse and use a test light by connecting the groud clamp to the metal and placing the other end where the fuse was. If the light come on, you need to replace the fuse.

Of course, you just broke in to the car. The car's computer doesn't know you are the owner. You need the dealership to make you a key based on the VIN Number.Then you need to reset the anti-theft system to recognise that new key.

The HVAC control module handles all inputs from the dash and routes the correct airflow as commanded. Your problem will be related to a failure of one of the switches on the dash, a fault with the module or sticky/failure of one or more of the air valves in the HVAC box. It can be very hard to diagnose what the specific problem is, but given the noise, I think it will be related to the air valve operations (depends on whether the system is commanding cool or warm air at the time as to which one it is). You can get a code reader and see if there are any error codes in the system to see if that sheds light on the matter. Otherwise you will be stuck with a dealer visit.
