Sounds like a fuel obstruction, have you had the gas tank off for any reason? Have you been near the fuel lines or changed the filter? Check for fuel pressure on the fuel rail near your injectors, it's a schrader valve which looks just a tire valve stem, check for pressure but use alleys/body protection measures. Important, when did this happen and what went in directly before the problem started? Think hard!

Carb needs cleaning or rebuild they sale carb rebuild kits on eBay .

Got a 2001 400 big bear has good spark but won't fire off. I was told by a friend that it might have jumped time how would I go about timing this model

Make sure that the shifter did not move out of N. Recheck your battery connections.

Check your fuses.

Sounds like you may have a problem with the float valve in your carberator. If it's stuck open, even when the engine isn't running gas could be building up in the carb because your carb float valve isn't limiting it. And if it's building up and filling the carb, then it will eventually drop into the engine and subsequent oil pan. Look for signs of excess wet gas in the airboxin. That's a sign something in the carb isn't regulating the gas right.

there should be a screw located on the bottom of the float bowl. but on some quads it might not be easy to reach without long skinny flat head screwdriver. my suggestion is to take off the carb and give it a good cleaning. water can cause deposits and lead to clogs
