Fan not working
I don't have a wiring diagram, But if you look on the radiator for a thermo. switch with 2 wires going to it, That is what turns on & off the fan. Unplug the wires from it & jumper between the 2 wires with the key on. That should make the fan run. If it does, Then you know the fan is fine & all the wiring, circuit breaker & power to it is correct. Check that the coolant level is up to the top in the radiator to turn on the fan when hot. If it gets so hot that the fan never kicks on & the overheat (red) light comes on, The thermo switch is bad. If it doesn't come on, Unplug the fan directly & put 12 volts DC from a battery to the fan to make it run. (Positive on the blue wire & negative to the black wire). The fan either runs or not (Good or Bad).
The fan is controlled by a thermo switch . It's located on the radiator and has power going to it always and when temp goes up it grounds circuit and fan come on.
I have the original owners manual, and it says that there is a fuse (No 16) and a relay (No 10) for the blower motor. I've same troubleshooting right now. If you wants send me a email to [email protected] to send you a scan imagen of the fuses diagrams.
SOURCE: radiator cooling fan 30 amp. fuse keep blowing
The fan may run with jumper wires but if it''s blowing the 30 Amp Maxifuse it's needs a new or used fan motor. It's pulling too many amps.I have almost never seen a fan relay concern.Only other thing you may check is the wiring down near the fan shoud I have seen the 2 wires get loose from the conduit & melt onto exhaust manifold.Hope tHis Helps

The main reason for the over heating of the audi tt is to do with the water pump. The propeller within the first type of water pumps is made of plastic. This was to prevent corrosion, however was never designed to last longer than 5 years. What you need to do is purchase the new style water pump. These new style water pumps have been designed with a metallic propellor which should resolve the overheating. Let us know how you get on.
SOURCE: Ford Escort cooling fan not working, Wiring
check the fuses there s also fuses in the engine bay, also check the wiring to the fan,the wires lead back to the main loom so if you are trying to trace the wire back its easier to take this out to check it but make a note of what connects to what.
