Has the control system been scanned for fault codes? Do that first.

If/How long will it crank over before it stops? Are you saying it will crank over, but very slow? Has it been sitting quite a while. Got good spark, and fuel?

The power to the ignition coil comes from the Auto shut down relay. It also runs the fuel pump relay. When you turn the key on it will read 12 volts, but only for about 5 seconds. The auto shut down relay is controlled by the ecm. Check the power on the coil while cranking the engine. When cranking the ecm will lock on the ASD relay.

SOURCE: 2004 F-250, 5.4l gas. Won't start or even crank.
are you referring to the starter relay on the firewall? the voltage should drop to 0 when measuring across the signal path because the connection is made, essentially making it a piece of wire and there is no difference in potential between the two points. is there 12v to the starter motor? is the starter solenoid (located on the starter) receiving 12v? check fuses and fusible links. disconnect hot leads from the starter. remove the starter, and supply 12v directly to the motor. does the pinon gear extend and spin? starter.

SOURCE: MAY NEW ALTERNATOR PUTS OUT 14 VOLTS WHEN I START THE DIESEL 5.9
the voltage regulator is in the computer, check you battery with volt meter with engine off it should say 12volts then check it again with engine running and it should say 14-15 volts. if not the you will have to take it to a dealer to check the computer, hope this will help you!!!

SOURCE: I have a 1966 Mustang. 200 six cyl, auto. PROBLEM
Check to see if you have Power at the coil when the ignition is in the run position. Try to put the points on High cam so the points do not burn when you do this test. Also see if your Rotor is turning. You could have a broken timing chain or sheared off a Drive pin in the Distributor gear.
Check your Polarity at the coil. I do not see a new condenser as a replaced part, try a new one. Would be interested in knowing what you found.

Just had that some issue. It was bad fuel which caused a slow release of fuel into the float bowl. Took the screen out , flushed the gas , cleaned the float bowl and carb and away we went.
Fuel pumps have a screen below them and get plugged also if it is an efi.... Most of those systems are still meshed into a float bowl unless the pump is in the gas tank. To free a stuck fuel pump... take it out, soak it in seafoam (NEVER USE CARB CLEANER... NEVER EVER. ) then set up a small alligator clip and some wires to each lead... heat the body up with a heat gun but not so much that she melts.... Then begin touching the contacts on a battery post and reversing every few seconds. ( the pump will run in either direction... you are just trying to break it free by reversing directions, almost like rocking a boat. ) repeat heat but follow up with a rap from a rubber hammer. Once freed run some cleaner through but keep your face clear.
