Sounds like you over heated the engine pull toooo heavy load.
if your lucky when it cool down it will run again. before it stopped
running did the engine sound funny like pinging or a "rattling" and
smoking?

Honda Rancher TRX350FEY, the battery is fully charged but I only get a clicking sound when I try to start.
Starter solenoid needs a good clean or re-pacing also chek you sater is ok take off and test with battery

2005 Rancher 400 stuck in first get blinking dots error. After driving some it shifts again. Recently had gathered angle sensor replaced.
Could be shift sensor or need to pull shift motor and gears clean and re-grease , some of the honda grease was too stiff.

2010 honda rancher battery will not charge when cables are hooked up it starts when cables are removed it dies

How to remove the stator on a 2004 honda rancher 400 AT 4x4
you need to remove the bolts and then it should come off... you might have to GENTLY tap with a RUBBER hammer..the magnetic attraction between the rotor and stator may make it a little harder.. >> pull straight off<<<
