It sounds like the carburetor has a sticking float and is letting fuel in after the float bowl is filled.

2005 Polaris Sportsman 700 won't start.

Go back to basics. What EXACTLY does it do when you try to start it? Just spins it is often No spark. 'Coughs' and tries to start is possibly a fuel supply issue.
An engine needs 3 things to run. Air, Fuel, Spark. Did you check for spark on both cylinders?
Have you checked the air filter is clean. You will be surprised at how much a dirty one can affect an engine.
Have you checked for fuel supply at the cylinders. If you can get your head near the plug holes try this. Remove both spark plugs. Crank the engine for 2 seconds then remove the ignition key. Sniff the spark plug hole. Does it smell of fuel? Do the same for the other cylinder. Use the comment button below and I'll see if I can help you more.

Ok need some help. I have a 2015 Polaris 570 sportsman that wont start. Sat for a little of 2 years. Replaced the battery and flushed out the old gas. Still wouldnt start unless I blocked the air but...

Because big break ,is possible that the piston rings to be stuck on their channels, due to burnt oil deposited in operation, if one of the many km as possible and wear rings, cylinder liner etc.
You need a solution to wash and degrease the segments, pour it into a cylinder, before you pull out the spark plug, which you search if it is wet and smells gasoline, it is a sign that it is fed correctly with gasoline ... do not overdo it with the washing solution, a 50 miles is enough.
Close gasoline, if you can not remove the hose coming from the pump, to the engine to avoid aspiration of gasoline while washing the cylinder, and do some startup maneuvers, plug the spark plug hole with a finger towel, thus preventing immediate evacuation of the cleaning solution and thus wash the cylinder and clean the segments, and observe the compression. After a few such maneuvers, all the cleaning solution will be discharged from the cylinder, now put a clean cloth in the spark plug hole, that the cloth no longer has anything wet on it, it is a sign that there is no cleansing liquid in the cylinder.
repeat the idle operation to make sure it's airy, fit a good spark plug, put the gas hose back on and have to start.
Preventive, check the air path, not clogged, clogged air filter, etc.
Good luck!

2010 sportsman starts fine idle fine start giving gas and it starts cutting out and no power

Old fuel, dirty carb jets. Low fuel level in carb. Has it been sitting up? Check air filter and plug.

I have a 2016 Polaris sportsman 570 she's got a fuel pump tries starting her she will keep winding over but won't start any help would be nice

Make sure the kill switch is in the run position.

AN engine need three things to run:
Compression
Timed spark
Fuel

now.....
1*. Check the spark plug to make sure it is firing.. remove the spark plug.. make sure you have metal to metal contact and then turn the engine over.. (this might be a two man job).. the spark plug should have a nice big blue white spark,,(some electronic's will have a weak orange and still fire fine!)
2. Make sure you have gas in the tank and (going into the carb/FI)... (have to ask-actually have had 3 bikes in my career come in complaining -won't start...!! Add gas and they ran.. WOW!.. never charged any of them....the embarrassment on their face was payment enough!)
3*. While the spark plug is out... place your finger over the spark plug hole firmly .. keep the spark plug cap away from your hand..turn the engine over and see if it will blow your finger off..(it should blow it off the hole easily).

If any one of these three are not nearly perfect.. you have an issue!!

Check these and repost with the results...

Having a cold starting problem with 2011 Polaris 550 EPS

As in...? Cold start as in warm weather not being run in a while, or cold weather every time it cools down? Is that fuel injected or carbureted?

2005 Polaris Ranger shuts down when hot

Could be the coil pack going bad or fuel pump. Find the coil pack and spray water on the outside of it. Not a lot just a stream to keep it cool. It should be on top. Here is a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woE4OIhCvAs

I know nothing about this model but it sounds like some kind of safety lock is kicking in. like its not in neutral, brakes not on. whatever it needs to let it start.
