I have a 2005 Kawasaki KFX 400 and I have replaced every electronic part on the quad besides the wiring harness. I am still not getting any spark at the plug. What do I do?
I am also getting power through the cdi box but none to the coil. Any ideas of what wire may be shorting out or what the problem is?

If you are talking about the crankcase vent hose... a very small amount of oil vapor could be considered normal. If it is flat out oil. Check your oil level and see if it is too high. Otherwise it sounds like blow by.
When you "hot wire" an ATV with a battery is the same as leaving the key on 24-7. This is not recommended..A good locksmith might be able to help you resolve your "switch issue"
BUT.. the brown wire and the gray wire(both are ignition switch wires).. connect them and you should have power
Trying changing the plug , if you didn't already see what type of condition it's in. Check to make sure you have spark. It may be your air screw need tunning.
cdi...ignition coil and all switches, run stop switch contacts may be worn, last resort..cut and tie together those two wires on switch, bet thats the prob
