I have a honda rancher 420 ES 4x4 with a jumping transmition

I will be diving down a road and when I shift into 4th gear in a low rpm and "get on it" the bike pops like it skips a gear and also sometimes when I go to shift into 5th it misses and goes back into 4th. my bike has close to 3500 miles on it

Oh Dude, this isn't an easy fix. It sounds like your shift pawls could be bent, it also could be that the shift shaft that the pawls slide on is bent, worst case, there is some transmission gear engagement teeth that are damaged.

Sounds like the throttle position sensor is going bad, take it to a professional and let them trouble shoot it.. it WILL be cheaper in the long run!!

2002 rancher 350 es wont shift and will shift manualy
sounds like one of your solenoid in the valve body is bad, if you.are able to shift it.by yourself, then it could be a.solenoid, but also.check your transmission fluid to make sure its full, check when transmission fluid is hot, either in park or neutral, your owners manual will tell you which.way to check it, sometimes on the.dipstick it will say how to.check it to.
