I take help from online websites that have this service like helping in repair some like reliable-store have instant help.. others are a bit slow which I don't prefer... rest is up to u.. U can also get free manual works fine .

I would check the kill switch or on/off switch as those work by grounding out the ignition system so there is no spark. After that the coil or magneto might be the issue.

take the cable off, force air through it to blow out any water then force oil or cable lube through it.

flywheel on T in the compression stroked and cam marks lined up.

Most backfires are caused by improper mixture settings on the carburetor.

Check spark on all cylinder. If ok, check fuel deliever system.

Its either needs the fuel system, including professional carb cleaning, or there is a ignition system problem. Its probably the carb!!!!!

replace fuel filter. check spark plug. fuel has waste in it bad fuel maybe.. has it been setting a long time. remove sediment bowl from carb. should at least drain the carb and catch the fuel from the drain. examine fuel caught for bubbles in bottom of fuel container. air filter clean? adj timing ? does it smoke when running? backfire? choke off ?

Check your CV joints, they tend to click when worn or have insufficient grease.

Question moved from Cars and Trucks to model category. I have two thoughts on this. You either have water in the electrics from hosing the mud off, especially if you used a power washer. Or If mud and water got into the stator and coated the sensor for the CDI. It is magnetic, but in close proximity. Basically strip and clean and spray WD40 in connectors. Other ideas here. I don't see a gasket though, unless it is just a standard O-ring. Go back to basics. What EXACTLY does it do when you try to start it? Just spins it is often No spark. 'Coughs' and tries to start is possibly a fuel supply issue. An engine needs 3 things to run. Air, Fuel, Spark. Did you check for spark on both cylinders? Have you checked the air filter is clean. You will be surprised at how much a dirty one can affect an engine. Have you checked for fuel supply at the cylinders. If you can get your head near the plug holes try this. Remove both spark plugs. Crank the engine for 2 seconds then remove the ignition key. Sniff the spark plug hole. Does it smell of fuel? Do the same for the other cylinder. Use the comment button below and I'll see if I can help you more.
