test the pickup coil?

The vacuum line goes to the smaller of the two fittings on the fuel petcock. Suzuki used a vacuum controlled auto shut off mechanism in many of their fuel petcocks.

You need c clutch puller.See a dealer thier cheap.

wheel bearings , grease your diff too

it should be a dc pulse. a digital meter might not be fast enough to show it. get a service manual and check resistances on the coil and pickup in the stator. dont forget to check the plug and spark plug cap.

could be the pickup coil, the cdi or any of the wiring in between.

you'll need a multimeter and service manual to tell you what wires to check and what resistances to expect. its pretty easy to do.

Use a test light at the contactor to see if the switch and wiring are good.If you see an input from the switch up to the contactor,make sure the connections are all clean on the control input terminals at the contactor.(The contactor is the device that changes the polarity of 12V to the winch to extend or retract-essentially a double throw double pole relay).

its to do with the clutch not realeasing needs a strip and rebuild

Has the ATV (??..engine size, carb, fuel inj., year,??..etc.).. been sitting for a while...the carb is probably in need of a simple cleaning (all internal passages), a new spark plug, clean/treat or replace the air filter will probably get it running!
