Question edited for a lot more clarity, full make model and 'potential' to 'potentiometer'. Is this the part, it is like a volume control which is what a potentiometer is for, regulating voltage? This is for a Dellfield refrigerator and the only place I find the E6 error is on the Parts Town website. We get the same. Every 10 or so seconds the internal fan kicks in. Called the warranty line whom sent a new fan and an engineer. The engineer said there was no issue with it and checked with the manufactorers. He assured me it was normal and was simply to keep the cool air moving around the bottles to maintain optimum cooling across all the wine. I questions the longevity of the fan due to the constant on off process. He said its a brushless motor fan and simly relies on an electrical current to power it. Ie no actual motor component.
I asked that the help line have this info to hand as it appears to be a normal operational aspect of the unit. I guess lots of people will call the helpline with the same question.
