Purchase a HDD USB cable or docking station. Pull the drive out of your machine and plug it into another computer via USB. Move some files off the drive (be careful not to remove system files). Put the drive back into your machine and boot.

ASUS N56VJ BEEPING

Saltrock the beeps you hear are BIOS Beep CodesThe computer's way of telling you something is wrong, and an area to look into for it.The beeps come out in a codeMay be a long beep, then a pause followed by 2 short beeps.May be 2 short beeps, a pause, then it beeps 2 short beeps, pause, and all over again. You get the pictureNow in your best recollection just state the facts sir...............What?I mean what beep code so you hear Saltrock?Post back in a Comment. While I wait.............1) Remove ALL power. Remove the AC adapter (Charger), and Battery.(If you have the laptop hard wired to your router, unplug the cable from the laptop)2) Laptop closed turn it over, Battery Compartment facing Away from you.Remove the large panel on your side. Looks to be one single Philips head screw to remove/loosen.Lift the Harddrive/Ram Memory Compartment Panel, up on the screw side at an ANGLE.There are TABS on the panel on your side, that go into the Base Enclosure. (Bottom Cover)Move the panel a little towards the Battery Compartment, and remove. The Ram Memory module/s ('Stick') are held in by two spring clips on each side.Closer inspection will reveal the spring clips have a protrusion, or 'Bump' on them. These bumps fit into Side Notches, in the Ram Memory module.Simply ease one spring clip to the outside. Be gentle. The spring clip only needs to move far enough, for the 'bump' to clear the Side Notch. Now do the same for the other spring clip. When both spring clips are eased to the outside, the Ram Memory module will 'spring up' a little bit.The BODY of the Ram Memory module, is everywhere on it, EXCEPT the gold plated contact pins on the bottom. The Body is coated with a see-through protective plastic.Handle the Ram Memory module by the BODY.See the angle that the Ram Memory module popped up to?Remove the Ram Memory module AT THAT ANGLE.Reinstall the Ram Memory module at the same slight angle.Failure to comply, can damage the gold plated contact pins on the Ram Memory module, and/or the contact pins in the Ram Memory slot. When reinstalling insert at an angle, and fully inserted into Ram Memory slot. Then gently press down on the side that is tilted up; until the spring clip bumps pop into the Side Notches. (Of the Ram Memory module)Note that there is a Locating Notch, on the Bottom of the Ram Memory module. (Where the gold plated contact pins are),http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1GB_DDR2_SO-DIMM.pngMake sure you line the Locating Notch of the Ram Memory module, up with the Locating Lug in the Ram Memory slot. The Ram Memory module only goes in ONE direction. What I would like you to do, is remove all Ram Memory modules, and clean the gold plated contact pins.Use a pencil eraser. If you are using an eraser on the end of a pencil, and not a solid eraser; refrain from letting the metal band of the pencil, touch the gold plated contact pins.Rub back, and forth; and up and down. Clean EACH gold plated contact pin. BOTH sides. Doesn't take much pressure, nor rubbing to clean them.Doesn't take much 'corrosion' to make a bad contact, either.(Corrosion in marks because Gold isn't supposed to corrode.Just my term)When finished use air to remove the eraser dust.If a can of compressed air for computers is available use it.If not air pressure from your mouth will be sufficient.Reinstall the Ram Memory module/s.Reinstall the large panel cover.Reinstall the Battery.Reconnect the AC adapter, and then plug it into power.WAIT 1 minute, turn the laptop on.Still no?I await the BIOS Beep Code then.Asus Support > Asus N56VJ series of Notebook PC > Downloads page,http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=N56VJ&p=3&s=390&os=36&hashedid=2W6oktGQFZdwZ7cPScroll down. Click on the blue + sign, next to the blue Manual (4)Scroll down to Version E6951To the right of - Download from, click on the Blue -> GlobalThis is a PDF file. It is also the User Guide. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files. After you click on Global it may take up to 30 seconds, before the first page comes up.Go to Page 64 - Locating the hard disk driveShows you the panel to remove, and where the screw is located.Page 66 - Memory (RAM) does not show you the panel, nor screw.Regards, joecoolvette

Shut down automaticaly

Not much to go on, "shut down automaticaly" on battery or AC or both? A computer will shut down, or hibernate, if thats what you mean, that's a power setting? If a computer overheats it will shut down automaticaly to save the components from heat damage. If there is dust in the fan and vents it will shut down. If it is not getting sufficent air flow from vents on the bottom of the laptop through the vents on the side. One option is a Laptop Cooler. Is it shutting down when you are on it? When it's left unattended? Respod to this post for further assistance.

I tried to chnage my password on my Acer Ultrabook. I exited and now tried the old and new password but cannot access it anymore. Any advice on how I can re-gain access or do I lose everything and h

It seems that by mistake you have pressed some other key (which you did not remember) while entering new password. You should not be worry about it and no need to re-install from scratch because there are many password recovery software (Click http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Reset+Windows+Password+Stellar to search) to help you. You can use any of these software to reset your login password.
