These are obviously opinionated answers however, I have had mine wired to my home for approximately 9 years and have had only 1 issue where a voltage regulator failed. The new regulator cost me just over $100.00 and was easy to replace. I crank my generator once every couple of months by adding about 1/2 gallon of fuel and let it run till empty. Never use fuel that has Methane as this fuel absorbs water and will damage fuel components if you leave fuel in your generator. If you leave empty as I do, it has had no effect thus far.

You probably have a clogged main jet in the carb. You have to remove the float bowl to access the main jet, it is a brass orifice that is removed with a slotted screwdriver. Most of the time you don't actually have to remove the jet to clean it. Spray carb cleaner into the jet, let sit for a couple of minutes then blow it out with compressed air. Becareful not to spray into your eyes. You may have to do this a couple of times to get all the junk out.

no. the generator fuel is gravity feed.
