Radio shuts off for no reason w/ or w/out battery, home and car

Check "Delayed Power Off" under "Time Set" of Menu. Make sure it's off.

My tao xm2go unit is transmitting a very weak fm signal to my car radio. I can barely hear the audio.

You likely need to directly connect. In most cases the FM transmitter is too week to broadcast through FM stations, and a direct connection will clear up your issue. It could be as simple as connecting via an Auxiliary cable or Cassette Adapter. If you don't have the ability to use one of those, you can get an Auxiliary Input Adapter. Another solution would be an external FM Transmitter, with a larger range.
