From the sounds of your issue, it may be that you have malware or a Trojan. You can run a scan using this free malware/antivirus protection. I am not sure which antivirus you are currently using but this one is free and has excellent reviews. You will need to uninstall your current antivirus protection first before installing this one.

Malware/Trojans can disable your antivirus programs and make it look like everything is running smoothly. By running a complete scan with another program, you can get the malware out. Even the best antivirus can be disabled.

Do you have a Norton Antivirus or do u have Norton Online back up. Because few Noroton application will help you in backing up your files in a portable hard drive or in a DVD drive.

If you are using a VPN or sharing internet (IE: School, hotel, ect), they might be blocking that port that allows torrent downloads.

What anti-virus were you using? Or have you just deleted the software ? You should always do a clean install of all software and make sure you have no anti-virus on the system before you install norton.

2.control panel
3.add and remove programs
4. make sure all anti-virus programs are un-installed
5. if norton is by chance on the system you will need to go to their site and dowload the norton removal tool so you don't have any conflicks.
6.If you have a disk , insert it now and follow the prompts
7. if you purchased this online then you will need your e-mail address and password ( if you've forgotten they will e-mail it to you ) and install fron the online site .

may be it will the issue with the conflict of windows updates with the norton.. so whats my suggeation is just go ahead and install the latest version of norton antivirus2009,first you have to uninstall the 2008 version from the add/remove programs and install the 2009 version

I would email them and make sure it doesn't automatically renew, In future i would uninstall Norton and go with something more reliable and stable. I use Avast! antivirus and it picks everything up. It would do just as much as norton and possibly more and best of all its free

I can help you re-install the Norton program onto your computer. please download the latest version of Norton 360 from the link www.norton.com/n360s_5 and install it onto your computer.
Please note that if it is a premier edition, follow the link www.norton.com/n360p_5
After the installation, it will ask you for a product key. Please copy and paste your Product key to activate the Norton 360 version 5 onto your computer.

Please contact Norton if you are unable to install that Norton product. It will require a technician on the phone to actually diagnose why you can't install it.

go to norton security center ( you can double clik at norton side taskbar at your desktop) clik on setting and arrange this to what you want. if it still happen ...uninstall this program using start menu---control panel--add/remove program---norton uninstall
then you mustrestart your pc/notebook then try to reinstall norton using your norton cd...good luck..

because due to some windows conflict with the norton and it will change some settings of the norton so i will give you the upgrade link just go ahead and use it..

Make sure you have the CD key or have registered your product on Symantec. You will also need any other Norton product keys if you have them installed on your computer.

Best advice I can give is to first run the Norton Removal Tool which can be found at Norton Removal Tool at Step 4. This will fully remove all Norton products from your system.

After you run the Removal Tool, you can reinstall the 360 software, run Live Update, and enter your CD Key to reactivate. It should pick up where you left off as far as Days Remaining.

Note: Should you still have a problem, try the on-line support that is included in the price of your 360. Access it through the Help selection on the menu. It is very good.

I think may be its due to the you are trying to active Norton 360 or Nav with the product key of nis or trying to activate with expierd product key

1.you need to remove existing Norton program with Norton removal tool
2. Download and run Nis2010

once we finished the installation we can activate with the existing product key.
If you will get error message like "you exceed number of installation" while trying to activate, you need to contact the Norton support to reset the installation count.
