Pressure gauge problem with Suunto Cobra 2

Salva,

The error in pressure is actually a "feature" of Suunto computers. Suunto is probably one of the most conservative brands out there, and many experienced divers tend to stay away from them for that very reason.

The manual actually calls out this "feature" on page 27.

The remaining air time calculation includes a 35 bar/500 psi safety reserve. This means
that when the instrument shows the air time to be zero, there is still about 35 bar/500 psi
of pressure left in your cylinder, depending on your air consumption rate.

What is an ER1 code mean with a cobra2? How do I

Hello, this is not an error code that can be reset, you will need to send/take it to an authorised scuba service centre. Hope that helps.

Suunto Cobra Computer Console, battery replacement

Hey scuba2man, I have the same problem. Did you ever work out what was going on? My console didn't register any depth for first couple of dives (I had to turn it on every 5 mins to check air). Next couple of dives it told me I was between 98 and 103 metres deep (whatever that is in feet). I was at a maximum depth of 22m!!
I will let you know if I find solution. If not then I'll just get a new one!!!

HI,

Any good outdoor store who stocks Suunto will either stock it or be able to order it for you.. In a lot of cases Suunto also trains staff in fitting straps and batteries so you can be sure it was put on right. Prices will depend on type and model but generally they're not too expensive..

Do you live somewhere significantly above sea level?

If not, check your personal altitude setting. It's explained on pages 20 and 23 of the manual.

How many time is normal mask life ?

it depends on the quality of the mask and it depends on how you stored it (if you leaved it at sunlight, if you washed it thoroughly after using it in the sea...) i have a mid quality mask Mares mask, i have been using about 20 times for snorkeling, then i used it to take diving certifications in pool, then i used it for about other 20 dives in the sea... i always stored it in a dark bag (the mask is now about 8 years old) you can check if you mask is still in good shape, and the silicone has not worn out, in this simple way: just put the mask on your face without straps.. remove all the air inside the mask by inhaling with your nose.. then look at your feet (keep inhaling): if the mask remains on your face you can keep using it

Prosub atmosair rebuild manual I have an older prosub that I got a rebuild kit for but need instructions to take it apart and rebuild it.

You need to consult with a factory technician. Your life depends on these devices. I am certified in USD Survivair and no one can set those after a rebuild kit without special tools and measuring devices.
