I had the same thing and then discovered the "five" is an "S"... Start/Pause .. press the button.

You machine may have lost a spring. I would recommend removing the back and place all bolts in a cup. Do not forget to unplug first. Then take a look at any thing out of place.

i would try a new capacitor,located under the main top panel,its a round cylinder with two wires on it

check the lid switch,it is activated by a magnet set into the lid,magnet may be gone or switch is faulty

i would say its likley that the suspension rods are worn out and need replacing

problem program board or switch

if this is a top loader, the suspension rods need replacing

either a clutch problem or a faulty capacitor which is easy to replace it is located under the top control panel a round unit with a wire connector going to each side

Probably tub seal / bearing leak. Replace washer.

if it goes to the end of the wash and then nothing,check for a block or faulty drain pump

If the clothes are reasonably even at the spin cycle, then this is caused by worn out suspension rods,the out bowl is supported by 4 sprung rods, one on each corner you need to replace a set of four,if clothes keep all going to one side the replace the capacitor

if its a top loader and the clothes are all twisted up then i sugest replacing the capacitor
