SHURE BLX4R BATTERY LIGHT OFF AND WONT SYNC - HELP!
Hi,
please attempt to factory reset your microphone. Also, some companies only allow certain accessories like a battery to be provided by them or special partner companies. So, please verify with your manufacturer that duracell batteries are allowed to be used within their products.
Thank you.
My sm58 has a low
This could be any of several things. IF the audio output of the mic is at a normal level then the first thing to check is the mic cable. I have several things to discuss so read all of this and then test.
First, I found six BRAND NEW XLR cables were wired wrong... the vendor had 13000 of them in stock and was going to have to check them all. The cables appear to work, but had the shield and one signal wire in the wrong place so the line was NOT a twisted pair balanced as required, but instead a plain coax. I had to repair these at a venue when I discovered the problem. Please google the correct XLR configuration. The pin numbering is NOT what one would expect. You cables (open the ends and look) should have the shield tied to pin 1 which is one of the side pins. Mine they had the shield on the middle pin or apex of the triangle.
Second, there are COUNTERFEIT Shure SM58's being sold. Read about that at google... If you unscrew the screen and find a label on the side of the element, the mic is a fake... Now there are two qualities of fakes... some perform ABOUT as good as the genuine, and others don't even have the balancing transformer.
If the hum is only there while handling the mic, the ground to the shell is not connected... this is mainly a mechanical connection. You can extract the XLR male plug from the bottom of the mic by removing the side screw and gently pull out by grabbing one of the pins. Also you can verify the wire colors as the fakes use the wrong color wires.
Noise problems are my specialty so if you need further help send a comment to me.
Need to reconnect wires inside microphone
Usually black is the ground wire, or shield and red is the hot wire that goes to the center contact or one away from ground. White or green could be common or ground too. Graphics:

How do you turn off mute icon on nady uhf-800 wireless systems?
This system is out of date and actually ******* to use sell (NOS or old) or in the US these days as the govt. sold off those wireless frequencies to the cell phone companies. The mute icon is likely always on because as soon as you power it up the cellco transmitters are overpowering the miniscule 20 milliwatts your system puts out. Sell it legally on ebay mexico or europe where those frequencies are still in use for wireless mics.
Interference on psm200 wireless monitor
- Because the US govt. has sold off those frequencies to Sprint/ATT/Verizon and that is the interference you are hearing. It is now ******* to use those systems, as they interfere with cellular systems. I wouldn't buy another wireless system for a year or so, as the govt. has just done this AGAIN and audio pros will now again be buying new wireless systems replaced just years ago because of the govt's need for money and cell co's need for bandwidth.
- Next time, step up and buy a tuneable system that will allow you to scan for open frequencies to use so you can avoid stepping on/being stepped on by someone else using the same frequency but with much more power than the 20 mw a PSM 200 puts out.
- You cannot legally sell this system (new or used) in the US today. To unload it, sell it on eBay Mexico or europe, where these frequencies are still in use and legal.
