If the print test works, then that rules out cables, etc. Definitely sounds like a comm setting issue. The most common problem with swapping serial printers is incorrect baud rate. Is that winpos from quest in Aus? I think they might use 9600 baud. You change the printer baud rate using the dipswitches under the panel on the bottom of the printer.

So it is printing the second copy, just faint? If everything is set correctly in your pos system in regards to fonts, etc, then unfortunately that sounds like a hardware problem. It could possibly be the power supply failing not supply enough current to drive the thermal head, or a main board problem, or even the thermal head might be failing. You could try cleaning the thermal head (black shiny thing you can see when you lift lid up) with isopropyl alcohol. Failing that you need a tech.

You could try cleaning the thermal head (the black shiny thing inside the lid that does the printing) with some isopropyl alcohol and a cotton bud. Failing that, it might need a thermal head replacement. Or you could also try printing in a larger font (if this is possible in your pos system).

There is no option that I know of, on the printer to do this. I suspect this is an option in the pos software that you are using. If you are using windows try doing a test print to the srp350ii from the printers in control panel and see if it prints once. I am pretty sure it will and that will prove that it is something in the software itself.

Take the paper roll out and on the left side down the bottom you will see something that looks like a small light. That is the paper low sensor. Clean the dust out of that with a microfibre cloth. Also, the lever on the left side where the paper goes in adjusts the sensitivity - try moving that up or down.

The printer has some dipswitches under the panel on the bottom of the printer. Dipswitch 2-5 needs to be OFF and dipswitch 2-6 needs to be ON for darkest print. Default is medium. This printer is 180dpi so recommend using double size characters for darkest printing.

The operators manual does not give any indication about what to look for if the error light is on.

Here's what the manual states about the paper light:
This light indicates the near end of the paper roll. Install a new paper roll and the printer will continue printing. When the light blinks, it indicates the self-test printing standby state or macro execution Standby state when the macro execution command is used.

hello, im trying to send a print to my BIXOLON SRP350 Thermal printer by java codes. but java can't use the all the page width, what should i do to use all of the page width ?

Now go to Add priinter device then remove all printer driver and go to control panel then device manager then go to printer unistall all printer device right click on it then remove all driver unplug the printer data cable from your pc then restart your pc after restart your pc then plug the data cable of your printer install printer driver from your printer cd software go to run choose setup install printer driver which printer do you want to use then restart you pc then try for print.

Thermal heads wear out over time as the paper grates down the thermal head. You'll get to a point where the only thing you can do is to replace the head. Contact the manufacturer or service centers to where you can buy one

Try to push just the FEED button. if it doesnt feed, call their service center. hope it is in warranty still.
