Not knowing what capture card you have, I can only guess that you are using the componet video input to the capture card and the composite video out of the Xbox. If you are using HDMI, it could be a bad HDMI cable. This link:

See if you can repair the program by just reinstalling it again . Or you can save your projects in a temporary folder and then uninstall and reinstall the program. Afterwards you put your projects back.

Could the software have become corrupted? Save your files and do a complete dump. You might also want to use regedit to completely remove as many fragments of the program left behind Then reinstall the application and reinsert your files in the area they should be. Cross your fingers and see what happens.

I found with pinnacle 12 if you turn of the hardware acceleration and turn off the full-res preview,in video and audio preferences it speeds up transitions and text effects tremendously
