these type of camcorder you have to use them more often to keep the gear working right and clean them ,for this type of work you would need a tweezer a q-tip with a tiny piece of foam rubber tied to the end of q-tip and a few drops of fine oil use the tweezer to pick lint maybe hair and use the q-tip for cleaning, see if the camcorder has a rubber to run gears if it does that might be the problem the rubber might be too soft.you might need to replace the rubber, one more thing if you have a hard time finding the rubber for cam, than use a used a bike tube, what you do is with scissor you cut across the bike tube thin rubber bands.and try not to get any oil on rubber. Yes - are you using file explorer to view files? at top of file explorer screen is a sort option click on the column that states date modified and it will sort files in ascending or desending order. It is probably sorting on alphabetical order on the file name at the moment.

If it has a memory card, usually SD or SHD mini-card, buy, beg or borrow a card-reader which plugs into your computer USB port, try copy / recover files from card to PC. If you can't see the files then maybe try free download Express Recovery.
