check d subsrciption for ur norton ......if it has been expired renew it........or if u have full version of norton then ......install a norton removing tool......which u can find on service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

uninstall ur norton.......then again reinstall it......it will work...

A lot of the newer programs require all the way up to SP3.

My suggestion is to fully upgrade the computer with all patches and service packs.

There is no real reason to stay with SP1 as that is quite old.

Of course this assumes a legitimate copy of XP as some of the pirate copies will not upgrade past SP2

Your question is posted under Norton 2005 so if that is the version you are using it may well be fine.

However if that is the case then you will not be fully protected as that is over 5 years old and virus writers have moved on a great deal since then.

You mean symantec wants you to order norton. You computer honestly doesnt really care. In fact you can choose any other internet security company that you want. Or you can just do anti-virus. Id suggest doing your research on the best antivirus program currently available. Key points are accuracy in identifying viruses and computer speed. Most anti-virus programs give your computer a pretty big performance hit. After installation some computers can be 25% slower due to the real time scanning that goes on in the background. You want the fastest scanning possible with the best accuracy possible. Sometimes you might choose to trade off one for the other depending on what is most important to you.

Speed up my PC, is a Virus in itself, remove totally. Limewire is just a Virus doorway. I fear that the best "Fix" maybe a full reinstall, or use system restore to restore to another time BEFORE you installed Limewire, etc. press F8 at bootup, select Safe Mode, when at the choosing screen, choose, to restore your system to another time, then when the calender thing comes up, simply choose a restore point before you installed limewire and follow the instructions and reboot, that should get you back to the way you were, limewire and speed up my PC, infected you.

Hi there,

The issue is because you have not activated your Norton program with the renewal code or the product key. To activate, open your Norton program and click on the "renew" or "subscribe" button on the bottom of the product.

Enter the renewal code or the product key that you have and click on the yellow arrow button next to it to activate your program.

Try to download and install free trial AVG 2011 anti virus at www.avg.com. When installed, scan your computer for a virus threat and a report will display informing which files are infected with viruses. Then delete all the files which are infected with virus.

If still does not solve your problem, the only way to remove completely the virus is to install fresh operating system on your computer because it will wipe all your files including the viruses. So make sure you back up your files and you have all the hardware driver components of your computers.
